I have been working at Cardinal Solutions full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Upper management and leadership is very transparent about goals. Money goals, and growth goals. Large focus on culture among all staff, including who they hire. They want the best of the best and it's apparent by who you work with on a daily basis. There's no one looking over your shoulder and micromanaging your every move, but you do have constant support if you need it from a designated team lead. The trust makes motivation of a job well done very easy. It's an honor system, just get your job done and make the client happy. They understand you have a life outside of work and allow you to balance everything easily. Because they hire top notch staff, everything is done well and there's a solid team atmosphere (the bar is set high!). Consistent and timely company meetings, and one-on-one's with your team lead. Also, the technology is latest and greatest, they are always looking at what's new and upcoming in the industry. Very impressed with this group.

    Cons

It's a work hard, play hard mentality. So be prepared to work hard, but when you're being taken care of as an employee, I don't think that's a con. Sometimes communication can be a challenge because you may work with remote Cardinal employees at other offices, so it's important to have regular round tables to keep everyone included.

Patience you must have, padawan... Judging from your level, you are new to consulting. "Bench Time" is a common thing in the consulting world. Enjoy the downtime and make good use of it! You can take a variety of online training courses, study for certifications, etc. The process of closing a project is complex, involves many factors, and can occasionally take longer than anticipated. I will make sure that our Practice Managers review their current Bench Plans to make sure they are productive for all. --DM

I have been working at Cardinal Solutions full-time

    Pros

Healthy work/life balance is encouraged and reinforced with a great personal/sick time policy. Cardinal has great relationships with many high profile clients and carries a lot of respect. Hard work and diligence is rewarded, and the management and team leads are wonderful people who care about the growth of individuals. Training and on-going education is encouraged and they offer ample opportunity to do so, including tuition reimbursement. The benefits package is far above average. Bench-time layoffs are seemingly nonexistent, and they do their best to keep you on projects that will keep you challenged and growing in your skill set. With a heavy emphasis on culture there is no shortage of social events, all of which they happily foot the bill for. There is a healthy mixture of industry veterans and fresh faces, which brings great balance to team work.

    Cons

Although rarely required, the reimbursement policy seems a little slow which can lead to floating company expenses for longer than the average employee may be comfortable with.

I have been working at Cardinal Solutions full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

My experience with Cardinal has included many varied and exciting assignments. It has been a good introduction to the consulting world and has broadened my experience on several fronts, including emerging technologies such as mobile development. Additionally, Cardinal puts a lot of effort into the social aspect, with company outings, happy hours, holiday parties, etc. It really builds up the Cardinal culture and is very helpful for consultants out on assignment.

    Cons

Some of the standard cons for consulting apply here. You may find yourself stuck on a project that is not very fun or not doing much to further your career. However, the management has worked hard to minimize these situations.
