I have been working at Care Dimensions (Massachusetts) part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

An amazing organization with a mission that keeps employees striving to achieve excellence every day. I truly enjoy coming to work every day, and love the work I do. How many people can say that? Care Dimensions makes a difference for so many patients and families, thanks to the devoted, compassionate employees. I'm proud to work here.

    Cons

As we continue to grow and expand, the organization naturally feels occasional "growing pains". Care Dimensions has responded in the most effective ways, such as increasing staffing, implementing new technological solutions, and creating new programs, just to name a few!

    Advice to Management

Continue to appreciate and recognize employees and focus on the organization's mission.

I have been working at Care Dimensions (Massachusetts) full-time

    Pros

Unwavering commitment to quality care; mission-driven not-for-profit; extensive orientation program and excellent ongoing in-service training; largest hospice in Massachusetts

    Cons

Nothing specific to Care Dimensions, just the usual challenges of being a 24/7/365 patient care operation in a challenging healthcare market

I worked at Care Dimensions (Massachusetts) full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Professional environment, dedicated employees, learning opportunities for staff. Managers recognize and reward good work.

    Cons

Lots of driving (but fair reimbursement). Mandatory overtime, which adds stress to an already demanding job. Pressure to go above and beyond, like participating in weekend fund-raisers.

    Advice to Management

Staff are doing hard work, and expecting them to work extra all the time will just lead to burnout.

I have been working at Care Dimensions (Massachusetts) full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great, supportive coworkers and direct clinical manager tries her best to help
    Exceptional time off benefit
    Wonderful patients and families

    Cons

High patient caseloads which result in substandard patient care
Expectation that you'll "do what it takes" but not be paid overtime
Excessive, repetitive documentation due to inappropriate software
Upper management out of touch with day to day operations

    Advice to Management

Find out what's really going on with patient case loads and the inability of case managers to do their job properly because case load is unmanageable. Don't worry about patient/caregiver satisfaction survey results if you don't understand why they're poor after understaffing nurses

    Care Dimensions (Massachusetts) Response

    Dec 13, 2016 – Employment Manager

We appreciate your advice. We recognized the caseloads were too high, and in 2016 we were able to reduce them. We are actively seeking new direct patient care staff to ensure caseloads remain... More
