I worked at Care New England (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great co workers, decent benefits, close to home

    Cons

Having to use your own PTO to get paid for holidays--never seen this any other hospital, unskilled middle manager with bad attitude, intimidated many employees

    Advice to Management

Be sure all your managers have supervisory experience and if they don't it should be mandatory that they get training.

I have been working at Care New England full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Easy commute, really nice co workers, decent benefits for now.

    Cons

No staff, I'm constantly on call. Upper management micromanages and then screw's up. They expect everyone else to fix their mess. Dennis Keefe needs to leave he is terrible and the reason we are failing.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of Dennis. Fix this mess you made and listen to employees.

I have been working at Care New England (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Friendly work environment. Lower management listens to their employees. Infrastructure staff, nurses and hospital staff truly love what they do.

    Cons

CNE was a stable enjoyable place to work at one time. Now it it a house of cards. Senior management is making cuts to employees benefits as much as they can without a mass exodus occurring.
PTO has been cut back, raises cut or withheld, health benefits payments have gone up with only a discount offered if you use a CNE facility.

Senior executive management keeps making cuts but yet they receive six figure bonuses twice a year if they sign a contract promising not to quit.

    It's a house of cards.

    Advice to Management

Don't sacrifice the employees who made the hospitals what they are to cover for your mistakes.

I have been working at Care New England full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Paid time off is plentiful. Senior management is "trying" to communicate with its people. But it may be too little to late. The folks are truly nice here management is "OK". CNE does offer a decent amount of internal workshops for all to partake in.

    Cons

Culture is that of "keep your head down..." Their ACT values (accountability, caring, teamwork) are preached but not practised by the senior management. Too often are decisions announced with seemingly no lead up to them.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your managers and your staff. Stop building the plane in mid-flight and stop taking on new projects. CNE needs to live within it's means and not implement project after project.

I worked at Care New England full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very laid back. Not a stressful place. Accommodating to workers, most have kids. Vacation Time is abundant, especially towards management.

    Cons

Most are former union workers, leaving most without any ambition at all. Out of 300 employees in the RC department, only 9 males. Layoffs always a concern. Almost everyone there is over 45, so there is a very old-fashioned and out of touch way of doing things.

    Advice to Management

    Stop being "you"
