I have been working at Care UK full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good office location, good working hours i.e. there isn't a culture of working past 5:30pm on a regular basis. Tea and coffee is provided for free, you can have your parcels delivered to the office if you want to. Some training is available. Clinical people are generally very passionate about what they do.

    Cons

There is a lot of staff turnover, there seems to be fairly regular rounds of redundancies and cost cutting. There isn't any sort of career development or staff retention strategy in place for non-clinical job roles. There seems to be a lack of strategy, or lack of communication if there is a strategy. Senior management are not very visible.

    Advice to Management

Plan, consider staff retention, implement a staff communication strategy.

    Pros

Lovely residents and care staff, bad management, unfairly treating care staff. I would never recommend care uk because I have been treated so badly and been left without a job.

    Cons

Poor management. Rude management. No care for the residents or the staff, Just an awful place to work.

    Advice to Management

If you want to keep your staff, think about how you treat them and make them feel worthless, unappreciated. I have had an awful experience working for care uk. I will never be able to trust your company again and would never ever recommended anybody within your company.

I worked at Care UK full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

This place is a total nightmare. The only positive aspect of working here is the certain knowledge that I would NEVER allow a relative to be placed in their care.

    Cons

I observed such neglect. On a regular basis I saw one carer being responsible for 20 bed bound residents. Residents waiting until 10:30am for breakfast. Residents not being allowed to have a shower because there was never enough staff to help. Awful awful.

    Advice to Management

Stop abusing your low paid staff.

I have been working at Care UK full-time

    Pros

Seem to be some good career progression and development opportunities. Not under the stress of local heath services, although it appears to be changing

    Cons

There is a lack of pay rises and increments as seen in the NHS. There is also some lack of corporate support for individual treatment centres. Seem to be focusing more on profit over the well being of patients and staff.

    Pros

    Yearly salary increase.
    Well organised.
    Staff benefits.

    Cons

Salary is lower than other companies.

    Advice to Management

The new manager that we had was driving staff away. Very dismissive, patronising and did not seem to consider staff.

    Pros

Flexible Hours, managers seem to be on side of staff, patient focused rather than target set

    Cons

Corporate management is lacking, poor communicators, full of empty promises

    Advice to Management

promote lower managers up higher as they still have their feet on the ground

    Pros

I love my job, great training and opportunities fir advancement

    Cons

Some deputy managers need training in people skills and could benefit from some positivity training, could be more flexible with rrgsrds to shifts instead of being on a power trip

    Advice to Management

Train your deputies on how to speak and manage their staff
