    I worked at Care.com full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Care.com is an all round great place to work, mostly because of the great people that work there and solid leadership team. The company manages to find a good balance between focusing on their financial goals and their drive to be a socially responsible company, which many other organizations find hard to do.

    Cons

    Some work can still be done to improve career progression within many of the teams and developing/coaching new leaders.

    Advice to Management

    As the company scales, focus a little more on empowering every employee and teaching them to have "bias for action" so that nothing gets in the way of the amazing things that you continue to do.

    Pros

    Good benefits if they like you

    Cons

    Never been more mistreated in any work environment. I was talked down to, ignore and laughed at. I brought my A game to the table and never got any feedback on what I was doing so I continued with my job, at the end of my time there it was brought to my attention that they had issues what the way I did things but I was never told or sat down with. I have never felt more disrespected.

    Advice to Management

    Be nicer people

    Pros

    It was an excellent position. I loved my job and the work that we did.

    Cons

    Unreliable system to determine working hours. Met all requirements, worked required hours but their system didn't log properly. I was their best employee.

    Advice to Management

    Talk to employees, believe them vs a system with flaws and issues.

    Many of the things to advance your profile cost a large amount of money.

    There are not any positives.

    Cons

    This was the most unprofessional work environment I have ever been in. Full of people who have never managed before so your boss is always unhelpful.

    Advice to Management

    Middle management is ineffective.

    The people, company mission, social activities

    Cons

    Culture became overly “corporate” as the company grew. They didn’t value their employees, especially the ones that joined early on. The company was cheap, poor salary and benefits, laughable 401k match. Little to no room for internal advancement.

    Value your employees, they’re you’re most valuable asset.
