      Great place to grow

      Jul 22, 2015 - Anonymous Employee

      Pros

CareCloud is a high-profile tech company in Miami -- and there aren't many of those. The people are some of the best I've ever had the pleasure to work with. The work is challenging, but rewarding. It's a great place to expand your skill set and build your own brand. If you are flexible, creative and hungry to learn, it's a great place to work and grow your career.

      Cons

The company went through a lot of changes over the past 18 months or so, which made it difficult to benchmark against past performance and continues to make that challenging, but it seems like a lot of those shifts are starting to pay dividends. There is a lot of work and the work is challenging, but those that excel in a fast-paced environment and are constantly evolving will find tremendous opportunity for career growth. If you're not one of those people, it's probably not the right place for you. I think that's why you see some poor reviews. Growth companies aren't for everyone.

      Challenging and Rewarding

Dec 8, 2014 - Software Engineer in Miami, FL

      Business Outlook

      Pros

CareCloud is on the forefront of healthcare IT. The company's practice management and clinical information systems are cloud-based and therefore extremely nimble. New releases occur every month, so the pace of development is furious. If you desire to work in an environment where you will see the results of your efforts almost immediately, this is the place. The work is compelling and challenging. The rewards are better than expected for a five-year-old start-up, with competitive salaries, merit increases, generous paid time off, insurance coverage, and a retirement plan with employer matching. Most of CareCloud's 250+ employees work out of a large, single-floor office in Miami, which lends itself naturally to open communication, transparency, and frequent interaction between management and employees.

      Cons

CareCloud is small enough that every face is familiar but large enough that it is not always possible to know everything that is happening. It would help company unity and morale if frequent announcements were sent out about on-site visits by outside vendors and clients, participation in trade shows, etc., and if there was a shared calendar that employees could consult to find out about these and other upcoming events.

      Challenging. But worth it.

      Pros

I've been at CareCloud for just over a year. I've been challenged in more ways than at other companies. It's been a blast to be part of a company that has sights set on big things. So there's this constant need to get your daily work accomplished but also be thinking big picture. I work in Miami - the atmosphere is definitely South Beach meets Silicon Valley. Crazy and pressure-filled at the same time. The comp is at/slightly above market. If you have key engineering or operations skills you won't be disappointed. The stock options are a really nice upside.

      Cons

Not for everyone. I've seen a couple of good people opt out. Benefits could be better, but this year they put in a 401(k) match that is as good as anything I've seen. The Company is only 5 years old so I expect they're moving as quickly as they can on benefits. I've worked 80-hour weeks, but I've also been able to take time off on short notice when I need it.

A unique, rewarding, and great place to work

      Pros

CareCloud has done what few if any other companies in the healthcare IT space have been able to do in a very short period of time- and in Miami of all places. There is a lot to be said and a lot of pride to be had working at CareCloud. The entrepreneurial spirit is still alive and kicking, and it is truly the platform positioned to be the force.com of healthcare. The culture at CareCloud is great- Employees are friendly, greet each other with a warm smile, and are willing to work collaboratively together cross-department. Albert Santalo is a true visionary and is brilliant in explaining the future of the company. The State of CareCloud is always something to look forward- A quarterly reminder of how fast the company is growing and how truly incredible the milestones we have crossed are.

      Cons

CareCloud is growing fast- and associated with that are growing pains. Still, growing pains are the best type to have.

Great opportunity at a great company w/cool culture

      Pros

Leadership is strong. I have a great mentor. The product is the best looking product in the marketplace. Benefits are some of the best in Miami. Very cool culture with a lot of cool things about it. Parties, events, fun mixed in with the hard work. Lots of opportunities for growth in an ever-changing market where most of the competitors are outdated and have no growth.

      Cons

Get your rest. CareCloud is not suited for people that don't want to work hard. I haven't worked this hard in my whole life. If you want a career and are willing to work for it, it's here.

      Sinking faster than the Titanic!

      Pros

Could have been a great opportunity to affect change in an industry that sorely needs it, but CareCloud has lost its way.

      Cons

Morale is the lowest it's even been with near-daily layoffs and terminations. Next to no money available this year for bonuses and increases, despite $29M in VC funding in 2013. However, we had enough money to buy a sign for the building and to fly everyone to Miami for a week-long meeting this week, which, by the way, is a great example of the "culture" of this company. Everyone basically flies down to drink and party. Employees, including executives, are behaving wildly inappropriately with each other and in general. The culture is the worst I've ever seen and it starts at the top. We have no clients willing to serve as positive references...except those that are paid to do so, and customer service is steadily getting worse, given what I hear from clients that are likely to leave or have already left.

If I could, I would give this place a half a star

      Pros

The ping table and big screen TVs throughout the Miami office. The frequent in-house Happy Hours held after All-Hands meeting with the CEO and he tells you that your job is at risk. If you are woman, you have the extra perk of being sexually harassed. If you are lucky enough, you might be among the chosen ones to ride the Hummer Limo with drunk executives.

      Cons

See pros listed above. But they haven't had a profitable month since their inception. Their solution to draw a profit is to lay-off employees that they do not consider A-players. Mind you, they were best of the best in the industry when they were hired (and that's why they spent 100k on legal fees to steal him from a competitor).

Many internal issues and discordant culture

      Pros

It's a great product and much of the senior leadership has a clear vision for the company. Many, many of the employees are amazing (mostly in the Miami office) and I'd happily work with them again.

      Cons

The culture fit of Miami and Boston is sorely lacking. The two teams don't get along well and this causes strife and/or communication failures. Additionally, difficult and toxic employees are allowed to continue unfettered for reasons unknown, which cause lack of progress and many, many internal team issues.

      Lacking in leadership and focus

      Jan 13, 2015 - Anonymous Employee

      Pros

      - Some top notch engineers who care about delivering good code on time - Visually appealing product - Casual vibe in both offices

      Cons

CareCloud is centered on an "old boys club" mentality where the only way to further an agenda is to be "somebody" to senior leadership. Unfortunately, senior leadership is largely misguided. Priorities are constantly reshuffled without correctly assessing the proper things that should be bumped. Communication isn't terrible; it's nonexistent. The engineering team in Miami is repeatedly shielded from blame. The accountability issues CareCloud suffers are spread across multiple teams. There has been repeated production downtime and not enough resources thrown at it. Senior leadership should act like things are on fire but they seem indifferent. It was really disheartening to watch and experience. With respect to growth, it was strange to watch one employee receive a demotion because another with the same title left for a new company. It certainly seemed like CareCloud thought the title was the reason this person was able to leave, not the fact that the company has huge problems. Employees disappear overnight and nothing is ever discussed, even after employees verbally expressed displeasure to senior leadership. To be looked at in the eyes and agreed with but having no change to the end result is a good summation of how CareCloud works. PTO was a meager 15 days with no sick time or personal days (and only 7 holidays) until 2015, where it is now unlimited. This will probably cause employees to use even less out of fear.
