    Pros

Competitive salary and benefits, good work-life balance

    Cons

Managers get promotions, non-managers get outsourced

I worked at CareFusion full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Relaxed environment on the production floor. Met a lot of great people and made some friends. Some overtime offered when it gets busy.

    Cons

Never got a pay raise, voice of people on the production floor is not heard, pay is extremely low for amount of units we built.

    Advice to Management

Pay more attention to the people on the bottom floor as they are the ones who make the product and really bring in the money for the company.

I worked at CareFusion full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Carefusion spun-off the manufacturing division from Cardinal Health, which was primarily a distribution company. This was a good move because the quality systems for manufacturing vs. distribution were not compatible.

    Cons

Down sizing constantly not very stable. The culture shifted from a growing, merging, forward thinking to a minimizing, cost cutting, "on edge" workplace.

    Advice to Management

Grow your people. have faith in them and lead them to be successful. Ask the employees where they want to be in 5 years. Invest in them, provide training, and encourage them to grow. AND STOP DOWNSIZING to make the bottom line look good.

    I worked at CareFusion full-time

    Pros

At least before the BD merger: job security; lots of PTO; honorable values and products that truly help people; ground level teams were pretty strong

    Cons

Slow moving, random upper management decisions constantly changing the direction of projects, putting them on hold or cancelling them midstream; SW team was always behind, holding up HW releases; very political atmosphere in terms of promotions; lots of quality system overhead preventing real engineering work from happening; if you weren't in management, or Senior Principal or above, bonuses were meager; annual increases match COLA if you were on the high performing end

    Advice to Management

Constant switches in project direction demonstrate lack of research before starting a project. Make sure all of your teams are well staffed or unburdened by non-engineering overhead. Improve actual opportunities for promotions instead of just playing favorites, putting people into positions they don't really deserve or fulfill.

    Pros

good learning experience. interesting environment, with

    Cons

management doesn't monitor employees. Bad employees work here for years, good ones get all the workload and don't get properly compensated. Management doesn't give promotions, but they expect the work of a higher level job.

    Advice to Management

treasure your good employees, speak to the bad ones about improving. in other words, actually be involved!

I worked at CareFusion full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good pay, great people, Great location and sustainable product. Even better if you network with the shot callers and tenured managers.

    Cons

Too many inner circles. Upper management only promote like minded people. Do not give chance to other hard working employees. Most managers are non-technical and spend time delegating and creating tasks due to lack of understanding. Managers spend more time focusing on themselves than building up employees and rarely define a career path.

    Advice to Management

Too much favoritism, and backdoor politics.

I worked at CareFusion full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Carefusion was an amazing company to work for. The executives were great, cared about their employees and the impact our products had on patients. After BD acquired CFN, the CFN executives FOUGHT to ensure the employees received their promised company bonus, after BD went back on that agreement.

    Cons

Everything BD. Company culture and the people that took over are less than to be desired. See explanation in the Pros section about BD, this shows how little they care about their employees.

    Cons

Was always in fear of lay-off. Lack of vision and leadership from upper management. Often never knew where we were headed in regard to the next program.
