I worked at Career Education full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great Entry Level Admin job to get your foot in the door. Rewarding customer service experience. Very positive team oriented environment. Great training team.

    Cons

CEC uses temp to hire almost exclusively causing a high turnover rate with a one size fits all attendancecand performance approach.

    Advice to Management

Consider being more supportive of the individual. If high performong employee is suddenly struggling, consider more flexible support and counseling before allowing line leaders to easily dismiss the emloyee.

I worked at Career Education full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Salary commensurate with experience, a place to move up.

    Cons

I worked for Le Cordon Bleu part of the business which ended up closing down which caused me to look for employment elsewhere.

    Advice to Management

At the time, a lot of us didn't get pay increases while others received bonuses. Another reason why I left. I'm not sure what it is like there today and it may have gotten better.

I have been working at Career Education full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great people to work with. The environment is fast-paced. This is an industry that is under close watch, so changes are rolled out frequently to ensure the company is remaining compliant. Lots of changes, so I've learned to adapt to that. It's also rewarding to help students who truly dream of earnings their degree.

    Cons

Roll-out of changes by upper management can be overwhelming. Job requires you to sit at a desk all day and be on the phone, but you need to know how to speak with people, understand their concerns, and help guide them in the right direction.

    Advice to Management

Take care of your people. We are human too... Always remember the personal side before the business side. Happy employees=productive and positive work environment! Employees work hard for managers and upper management who they feel actually care about them.

I worked at Career Education full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great environment, fun morale, encouraging leadership, truly feel like you are improving people's lives by helping them through school.

    Cons

inconsistent middle management, some are very good and helpful - others are not so good. Job is a modified call center role as an education consultant, so if you don't like being on the phone all day, probably shouldn't work here.

    Advice to Management

Work on consistency of training for middle managers as well as a QA program to verify the methods and practices of all admissions managers.
