    Pros

Reception Coordinators meet and greet all guests fafe to face and on the phone. Some of them are big names in the Culinary world and that was exciting.

    Cons

As with most corporate employers who sell stock, the investors are heeded more than the people on the ground in the stores or in this case schools. Poor judgement and decisions lead to unemployment for several thousands.

    Cons

Obama tried to kill this sector, but things look better under Mr Trump.

    Advice to Management

Hang in there and follow the plan.

I worked at Career Education full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great pay and excellent benefits, great opportunity for advancement. Great support from upper management for new advisors. Plenty of support from other advisors who where assign to help newer advisors.

    Cons

High pressure sales and monthly quotas. Minimum training and resources for advisors who were under performance. Providing more resources for advisors when they where under performing. Allowing older advisors opportunities to move into other departments besides Admissions.

    Advice to Management

Set realistic goals for employees and provide additional training for veteran advisors

I worked at Career Education full-time

    Pros

Probably the best paying admissions / sales position in the industry. Good marketing, training and compensation.

    Cons

Can't think of any cons at the moment except for the fact that they are closing most of their brick and mortar campuses.

    Advice to Management

It was a great ride instead at the brick-and-mortar campuses, and wish the company all of the best.

The company has its priorities in order, they put the student and education first. Good benefits (changed over time but still decent).

    Cons

    Advice to Management

    Over communicate to the trenches.

I have been working at Career Education full-time

    Pros

Been working for CEC for quite some time now. Prior to 2014, the Engineering team had many challenges in just about every area: inability to deliver on time, lack of accountability, quality (planned hotfixes), overly complex applications, legacy applications, too many offshore contractors, lack of collaboration within and outside of IT, and most of all - very low morale. In early 2014, new management entered the picture and significant changes with it. Starting from the top. New organizational changes occurred. New SDLC processes were introduced (agile). Dedicated time given to refactor and rewrite legacy applications. Shift to more onshore resources and re-balanced engineers to QA resources. Significant (newly introduced) support from mgmt...etc. The IT org seems like a brand new organization. We are now delivering on time and within budget. Quality is at an all time high and all teams are collaborating fully and openly. The business stakeholders are very pleased as well. All in all... a pretty decent place to work. (We also just brought in a ping pong table... times are a changin')

    Cons

Quite a few legacy applications that are overly complex. Thankfully mgmt. is supportive in dedicating time to refactor but there is a long way to go...sometimes hard to know where to start.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the support. Keep bringing on great talent.
