I have been working at Career Education full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

For employees who are not hourly there is a lot of flexibility in the workplace to work from home when needed. Departments are also often flexible when working with each other.

    Cons

Through many CEO changes the direction of the business is always changing. New ideas are often implemented before seeking information on full impact.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to communicate to see what is being done currently. We have several redundancies across departments.

I worked at Career Education (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Amazing group of talented, caring people to work with. Advisors truly care about the students they enroll. The advisors are motivating and positive towards their peers and students. Due to an open enrollment process, not every student completes their degree but is given every opportunity to do so. Benefits and salary are great.

    Cons

Immediate supervisors are wonderful but are bound by company policies. They heavily micro manage. They fire and rehire on a constant basis. It is literally a employment revolving door. If you make it past your one year anniversary of employment, consider yourself an old time veteran. There is a lot of training and development of their people and extensive resources used but, it's all lost through employee turnover. No stability, even the CEOs change on a yearly basis.

    Advice to Management

Due to whistle blowing and practices from the past, the industry is under heavy scrutiny. Many changes within the organization have made the company better. However, sometimes upper management can't see the real picture of what is going on. There is a lot of wasted resources due to policy and attrition.Keep the good people that are developed. Treat the employees with respect and like adults. The employees might like their jobs more and results will be better.
