    Pros

Cool co workers and friendly atmosphere.

    Cons

Your job not to advise but only to enroll. Nothing but a sales job. Company only cares about getting enrollments so they can make money off the student's financial aid approval. The intellectual compatibility of the people we tried to enroll had nothing to do with it.

    Advice to Management

Get real!!. All you guys care about is financial aid money. I hope fasfa shut all you for-profit schools down.

I worked at Career Education full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The people I worked with were very team oriented. Very professional and willing to help each other out with what ever was needed. We all looked out for each other and had each others backs.

    Cons

CEC needed to more organized and in touch with what was going on. I was a chef/culinary instructor at Le Cordon Bleu. I think they were more interested in the money they could make than Doing the right things for their employees and their students.

    Advice to Management

CEC needs to take an honest look at problems rather than playing the blame game. I also think they could all benefit from a course in ethics.

    Pros

CEC is overall a great company to work for. A safe and open environment is maintained and encouraged
Being a for profit school in the current industry can be stressful, which is a down side.
Overall, a good company to work for with a lot of room for advancement.

    Cons

    Highly regulated industry
Communication and transparency to staff level could be improved
Virtually no contact or interest in staff level employees by executive leadership

    Advice to Management

Executive leadership is disconnected from the staff and their needs, suggestions

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Career Education full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good pay, good experience in how students are given internet and other commercial incentives to go to college on line. They are accreditated

    Cons

Very expensive, the same or more than other colleges, especially city or state colleges. Be carefull, the credits may not be acceptable to all companies or corporations. Leadership is terrible. Too many changes in the process. From week to week you never know what they have added, deleted, or taylored differently. Many prospective students believe they are a scam. So it's all uphill to get them to stay on the phone.
Constant equipment failures. Constant revolving door. You never know when you will be the next out the door. You work in fear that your next paycheck will be the one from unemployment.

    Advice to Management

Think about how it looks when five or ten people are no longer on the floor. Even the ones with three to five years of service. It's an excercise in fear daily.
