I worked at Career Education part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible hours and friendly environment. Not a hard job and management was always easy to deal with. Very understanding of personal issues.

    Cons

low pay, unstable job, campuses mismanaged and shut down. No upward movement opportunities. Last 6 months of location being open we had no manager and other employees took advantage and didn't show up. Beware, this company is disappearing. Don't expect long term employment here

I worked at Career Education full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great people to grow with the organization. Opportunity for development and growth.

    Cons

Professionalism, work on attracting better candidates and support the environment you want. Changes, Changes and more changes. It is difficult for the company to maintain good communication across departments, units, etc. This revolves around so much turnover.

    Advice to Management

Take a look for yourself, talk with people at all levels and really take everything in so you can determine the nature of the business youself.

I worked at Career Education (More than a year)

    Pros

The only good thing about working at CEC is the great coworkers you encounter. They really made my experience a little more bearable while employed there.

    Cons

There is a very narrow path for promotion, regardless of your skill or education level. One doesn't need a bachelors or master's degree to sit and answer phones, and that is all you are basically doing in this role. If you need to take time off, good luck if you don't have seniority. The environment is quite toxic, which was disturbing especially when new hire classes start everyone feigns excitement and camaraderie that quickly fades.

    Advice to Management

Treat employees with respect, don't micromanage them and try to develop them instead of looking for reasons to draw up corrective actions.
