Pros
So far am experiencing a phenomenal culture at work, impeccably organized, thorough training, friendly and very welcoming people. Pay is the best I’ve come across for an extra level recruiter. 48k base plus commission (not sure how much commission yet). Work expectation is typical 8 hour day (at least at my level), not insane hours!!
Cons
Have not experienced any cons yet. I have noticed some coworkers talking about how the company is growing very fast and it’s hard to keep up, but that’s a good problem to have.

Great resume builder but beware of job security
Apr 6, 2023 - Recruiter in Thousand Oaks, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
CareerStaff offers fairly competitive pay for those new to the field or recent grads. They offer full benefits, bonuses, and in depth training to help prepare you for all expectations while on the job. The training staff are efficient, engaging, and thorough during your first two weeks. KPI's are always identifiable and achievable. There is a strong sense of comradery within business units and teamwork/relationship building is encouraged. My team was fantastic, I would work with every single one of them again.
Cons
Executive staff are overwhelmingly out of touch with the teams that generate revenue. Communication between departments, especially with the marketing team, is especially dreadful. Expect massive projects that you work for months on to randomly fall flat on their faces and for your hard work to be worth nothing. Massive layoffs occurred last month (I get it, things happen) yet, perplexingly, despite corporate saying this was a decision made months in advance, nobody was notified until a random Zoom meeting popped up on your calendar saying that your position was eliminated. Entire teams were shut down in a moment's notice and there was seemingly 0 plan for current or future clinicians; the ones that, you know, generate revenue for the entire company. I was receiving frequent calls about what was going on from people in my pipeline for days after being laid off. Facilities that we had established relationships with had no idea who was showing up for what shift, clinicians were left without a point of contact, it was an overall disaster. CareerStaff will move on, despite their poor decision making skills but at the end of the day, it was the sick and elderly who were affected by their lack luster planning and knee jerk solutions.

Pros
I worked in Corporate and loved my direct team and had to interface with all Business Units. Non- manager roles typically were pleasant to interface with. Although not everyone, as one would expect was easy to work with. Remote work was amazing for work/life balance and saving gas/environment and appreciated. Employee Engagement seems like they really cared about bringing together the workforce with Networking and fun activities (at least once a month for each) which was truly appreciated. However there was a disconnect of them gauging the true dynamics between core teams and their upper management which I would have liked to have seen to work out kinks that were clearly there impacting daily employee productivity and happiness.
Cons
A lot to name. -Health Benefits --do not start until 90days in AND are VERY EXPENSIVE to actually use if you need them. They offered BlueCross which was good but the tiers were too expensive to use which is sad...for a Healthcare staffing agency! -Pay is under bar compared to job titles in other industries, as well as their own -Disorganized: Training started with general training for the majority what they hire for (Recruiters) so it wasn't at all geared for what I did. This proved to be how everything seemingly is done... disjointed and not factoring in the bigger picture. Very few things were documented in their single repository (The Hub) and so everyone had old, outdated and their own tribal kept information which caused confusion and conflicts. There is a LOT of opportunity to be great however the right players aren't in positions in power to define what should be worked on and what initiatives should be prioritized which led to constant feeling of just flapping in the wind and like everyone just kept their head down and did their dailies but there was no real want to hear ideas for process improvement. It was hard to get a Director to listen too...everything seemed to have to funnel thru your own manager so it would never make it to anywhere if you had a bad manager. -If laid off- they don't pay out vacation OR even allow you to get the rewards from their reward system that YOU EARNED! -Lack of movement in job opportunities AND -Not necessarily a place to learn- teaching is done by tribal knowledge from your direct supervisor who may expect you to already know their proprietary GenServ, which you won't if didn't come from Genesis. They didnt offer opps to learn more in your craft or for extras you may want to pick up. For example they need so much to make them better, having a reporting team is just one I can thinking of. They should offer tuition to take classes to fill that need, for example advance Excel, stuff like that. -Management: CSU can be horrible if you're unlucky to get a bad direct Manager and/or Director. Managers and Directors are mostly new to employment (too green) or to managing itself, ergo not adept at it. My manager made it hell on earth at times condescending and over-micromanaging a group of professionals who didn't need that. It was clear she was used to managing a different type of employee. Non managers were generally caring and easy to work with however Managers and Directors were rude, unresponsive and disrespectful, making it difficult when you needed information from them. -Unstable work environment- they laid off key roles but not enough roles they'd have to make it public. -Lack of diversity in age groups: Most work force tends to be new entrants to the work force so even what should be tenured positions are being led by people with very little actual business acumen. This means that poor decisions are made and the wrong priorities are addressed in the wrong timing. Recruiting here is high pressured and with a lot of unattainable goals. I could see the stress there and could see the breaks of where things went bad for temps. Personally I loved my job and direct colleagues, so much so that I asked to cross train and was growing and learning but it's funny how although I literally never took time off save two vacation days and one of which was for a health event I had to be hospitalized for.... just a few months later, I was laid off. Coincidence that the oldest person on the team who only took one day to handle a life threatening health event was laid off? I don't think so.

Healthiest work culture I've ever experienced.
Mar 10, 2023 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
- Supportive environment and onboarding/training is well structured - Supervisors are responsive and available (probably depends on your team) - Remote! - Great benefits - Everyone I've met has been authentically kind (and not in a fake way) - On my team, everyone helps each other and there's always someone available if I have questions - Upper leadership seems to advocate for their staff and there seems to be a lot of within company movement and promotions
Cons
The only real con I can think of so far is that the hours are pretty long and inflexible. You have an hour for lunch, but most places I've worked, they let you "work through" lunch and work a schedule like 9-5 or 8-4 (instead of doing 9-6 or 8-5 with an hour lunch).

Empty promises! Beware NOT BEST PLACE TO WORK!!
Apr 1, 2023 - Account ManagerRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Phenomenal team culture and an amazing manager. People are fabulous
Cons
I do not respect the way in which they preach Best Place to Work and are pretty cutthroat and unprofessional when needing to roll back payroll. The company just handled a major layoff of over 150 Divisions slashed business units disolved and many talented people thrown out. There is an etiquette of valuing people and their experience that needs to translate to lay offs and termination. THEY HAVE BEEN LYING. I will be leaving ASAP. What is the pont of saying how wonderful a business is but the CEOS and VPs do not practice! The people I have had the pleasure of working with are beautiful people. How they have been treated is shameful!
