    Pros

    Lots of opportunities to make a positive difference. Creativity encouraged & flexibility to do what is needed to achieve solutions.

    Cons

    One opportunity is that business units could work more effectively together in promoting a 'one face to the Customer', but each business strives & successfully meets Customer needs.

    Pros

    The place is a cesspool. Strong comradery amounts those who perform helps you get through the day.

    Cons

    I have never worked for a company with the level of incompetence at the senior management and executive level seen at Carestream. The Peter principle is very much alive and well.

    Advice to Management

    Stop the insanity and defying logic. Your company lacks real leaders. Instead you have people who will say or do anything to protect themselves and the incompetent yes men that report to them. Your culture does not recognize or support real leadership. Instead, it is threatened by it. Time for an overhaul.

    I have been working at Carestream Health full-time for more than 20 years

    Pros

    I have been impressed with our new CEO Dave Westgate. He is willing to take risks and really seems serious about growing this company by challenging each of the business units to develop concrete plans.

    Cons

    TBD whether the micromanagement by senior leadership goes away now that Dave is in charge.

    Advice to Management

    Let go of previous ways of doing things.

    Pros

    Good people work here, lots of growth opportunity for both products and people. The digital x-ray systems are top quality and easy to sell. There is real potential for career development if you can tough it out long enough to get in a position to make some changes. Honestly, it's easy to come here and make quick improvement since things are such a disaster.

    Cons

    LOTS of bureaucracy, antiquated processes, short sighted goals, bad decisions everywhere. No regard for anything except chasing revenue at the end of the month even if it means the company loses money on the deal. Too many people make a decision that is bad for the company or loses money, but it makes their report look good. Too few people doing too much work.     Advice to Management

    You can only squeeze the lemon so long before nothing is left. We need to try and balance the short term with the long term. Customer concerns should be addressed and not ignored. Too much busy work to generate and review reports but why waste your time if root cause doesn't get addressed? Throw out the Kodak organizational model and streamline things.     Extended Product Portofolio in Radiology and Healthcare IT. Trend setter in many fields of radiology (first wireless cassette sized detector in 2009. Satisfying level of work/life balance.

    Cons

    No clear vision and values. Micromanagement. Vertical structure creates silos. Insufficient on boarding process. Lack of human resources.

    Great place back in the Kodak days, the sky used to be the limit. Lots of room for upward mobility.

    Cons

    Only metric we are measured against is inventory. Even if you sacrifice customer service it does not matter, only inventory matters. Wast countless dollars on air costs for the "benefit" of lower inventory. This company does not care how much money you make as long as your inventory is low.     Advice to Management

    Kodak is in the situation it is in today because of the same decisions leadership is making today. Forget the inventory pressures, go after the sales!! If you are aggressive in selling your product that will alleviate the inventory concerns. Inventory above all else is NO way to run a business.

    Pros

    This is a very large company that pays well and has above average benefits. There are many opportunities to advance in the company. With new miedicare requirements the business is exploding and growing.

    Cons

    Some antiquated systems, company is hesitant to spend the large amount of money needed to update all their systems.

    Advice to Management

    Processes and practices need to be streamlined. Also, spend the money needed to update our systems, this will increase productivity.

    Nice colleagues - great industry - lots of loyal customers - good food in cafeteria - more than enough parking ( ;-) )

    Cons

    Incredibly incompetent CEO. He's probably got with 10% approval the worst rating on Glassdoor. It's incredible how long he can survive in his position given the lack of sustainable success but he's just a little (literally) puppet of ONEX. He has surrounded himself with people who don't speak up but rather be part of the disconnected leadership team. Sad situation for all the good associates left who'd deserve a better...

    Management clearly more concerned with their own status and compensation than with the good of the company Forced bell-curve rating system -- a 5 of people in each dept. MUST be given the lowest possible ranking , no matter how good they are... barbaric system
