    I worked at Carestream Health for more than 9 years

    Pros

    1) Pay is good comparable to other local companies. Benefits were good, but are being progressively stripped. 2) There is a small collective of high-performers that continue to do all that is necessary to drive the business and do the right thing. 3) (As a salaried employee) So as long as you are willing to regularly in excess of a 60 hour work week, you have the flexibility to construct/manage your work day.

    1) Lack of transformative vision to save what's left of the business. 2) Change-driving projects, particularly in IT, rarely come to fruition due to 'Death by Analysis' by its principals. 3) Select R&D leadership is vacant and self-serving, with lack of innovative thought and positional insecurities that cause high-performers to exit the company. 4) There is a considerable gender and political pay gap, the...

    Advice to Management

    1) Focus on, and fully support, transformative growth and innovation efforts in the businesses that are not being stripped and salvaged. Demonstrate some bravery and trust in passionate and dedicated employees who want to make a difference in alignment with corporate objectives. 2) Don't replicate the Kodak model of riding out the film cash cow until there's nothing left and you're left with entering odd markets that...

      Pros

      Good pay and bonus Interesting people to work with Very cool technology

      Cons

      Horrible at dealing with bad employees. Toxic people in the teams are not talked and their pore behavior is ignored. Too many old school Kodak procedures and thought processes. Helter skelter policies. They changed month by month.

      Advice to Management

      Just be honest with your employees. Too many good ideas get squashed with old Kodak network. Address the HR nightmares you have working there.

      I have been working at Carestream Health full-time for more than 20 years

      Pros

      Good pay and benefits, if you appear to shine as I have, you get rewarded but you feel empty at the end of the day a d also become a target of paranoid and hostile individuals.

      Cons

      Each new day is more depressing than the next. Terrible ELT has been in tatters for a long time and always misses on products and focus. The good pay is not worth the pain of watching your life being wasted to meaningless contributions of a clueless company.

      Advice to Management

      Take a look in the mirror before you systematically destroy your employees for the dysfunctional company you've created.

      Pros

      Pay is good, most 'workers' are great

      Cons

      Goals are set and moved just before you make them. Management is tone deaf to how their employees feel. Employees not recognized for meeting or exceeding ever changing goals.

      Advice to Management

      Change the culture. The stuffy top heavy management needs to listen to the people leaving to hear why and do something. Most employees are on a constant look out for another job and will jump as soon as they have the chance.

      You are worked to death. 14 - 16 hour days every day. On call all the time !

      Pros

      Good people, very talented. Great to learn from each other. Interesting projects. Good pay and benefits. Overall its been a positive experience.

      Cons

      Not enough transparency. Management doesn't involve employees enough in decision making process. Too much "process", sometimes hard to get things done. Schedule is overvalued above doing the right thing sometimes.

      Trust employees more, listen more to them. Be more transparent in decision making process

      Many passionate and knowledgeable associates left. Good pay/benefits package.

      Cons

      Carestream is another perfect example of a failed transformation of business. This is like Kodak all over again. Most of the focus of the senior team still sits in the dying film business that exceeds their goals each year as they are able to negotiate low targets. This leads to great bonuses for the few dictators involved in this business. The CEO talks in his quarterly town-hall meetings mostly about the film business...

      Great co-workers and most of the management. Pay is good. Many opportunities for advancement, especially if you are fresh out of college.

      Cons

      Too much internal focus. The layoff policy is threatening to everyone making it difficult to get things done.
