Reviews about "poor management"

A company to work for long enough to get experience to work somewhere else.
Nov 13, 2009 - Technical Support Second Level in Atlanta, GARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
This company seems to hire anyone, qualified or not. They just hope or do not care if you are any good or not. A great place to start out, get your foot in the door. Here you can learn very basic but solid troubleshooting and customer service. They are a stable company and paychecks come on time as well as providing a minimal amount of time off/sick time.
Cons
Their pay scale is fairly non existent. Be prepared to work there for a year and leave, there are absolutely NO incentives to stay and work there for longer than it takes to find a new job. You will not be rewarded for a job well done, they are a revolving door for everyone not just tech support. Expect to have 3-5 different managers in your first year. No relationships will be gained and you will constantly have to keep proving yourself to someone new who is out to prove to their supervisors how good they are at trimming the fat. Raises are insultingly small if at all. The work load is stacked against you and the senior management are the types who complain about poor profits while taking huge bonuses for themselves. Don't expect them to last either. Not a place to have a career, just a place to get experience and then leave as soon as something better comes along.

Pros
Learned a lot, traveled a lot.
Cons
95% travel means no work life balance. More of a sales person than a engineer. Overall Carestream was a huge disappointment. Poor management is the root cause of low moral and high turn over issues.

They want you to think they care
Jul 13, 2021 - Product Converting Operator II in White City, ORRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
* yearly raise/bonus *no customers to interact with *sometimes free food. *job is semi simple *some good people
Cons
* high injury rate *shamed in to not reporting work related injuries *poor management all around *constantly overworked *long shifts on concrete floors with repetitive movements. *sacrifice your body and free time for just enough to pay bills and have a roof over your head. *politics are often talked about in the work place * lots of white men, very few people of color. Some women at least. *open door policy and no retaliation mean nothing to them *workers comp is bs and they will deny you for any reason they can find *lay offs were of almost only folks on light duty/workers comp. *chemicals around plant and silver dust in the air likely giving employees cancer.

Aug 31, 2011 - Sensitizing Operator in Windsor, CORecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Proximity to home, steady, stable work for now
Cons
Poor management and ' GOP' mentality in management. Too many games and wasted time and energy on non value added programs.

Challenging work, outdated culture
Mar 30, 2016 - Senior Software Engineer in Rochester, NYRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Pays well, very smart employees, challenging and complex products, interesting technology stack
Cons
Poor requirements, lack of strong decision makers in middle management, stuck in waterfall development model, outdated culture

Pros
Carestream is still a Rochester-based company. This may change in the very near future. Upper management has been trying to sell us off for almost 10 years. They are apparently close to doing so.
Cons
The culture is extremely conservative and this hurts the company in the marketplace. There are a few top management individuals who make extremely poor decisions. Cone beam CT, ultrasound, and now the nano project. What more do I have to say. I truly believe that these three failures will bring the company to its knees.

Pros
Good pay and benefits. Company cellphone and laptop.
Cons
Poor workload management. Some of the positions' work profiles are not as busy and managed. You work on weekends even if the weekends are off and you don't get paid OT.
- Former Employee★★★★★
Pros
Competitive salary packages and travel opportunities
Cons
Poor quality of top global management
- Former Employee★★★★★
Pros
Employees of the company are very hard working, committed to their jobs, and excellent to get along with. Unfortunately they're not rewarded for the work they do.
Cons
Poor leadership which leads to poor management effecting the entire culture of the Company. The Company needs to embrace these types of issues, and resolve them from top-down to retain it's most important resource, the hard working employees.
