I worked at Cargill full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Modest pay. Great benefits. A lot of weekend overtime to be had. Rules don't apply here which may help you at times.

    Cons

If you are not throwing your coworkers under the bus then you'll end up getting run over. A lot of politics are always being played out especially if you are on the lower end of the food chain. Work can be challenging because someone is always quitting or getting walked out because they challenge the core team but end up getting squeezed. Which means we have to pick up the slack.

    Advice to Management

Stop being fake. Fake smiles, fake laughs give false connections. The more you bark the less they listen. Stop fudging numbers. Upper management telling lower management to falsify staff hours to make your area look good but gives false performance numbers. Enron 2.0

    Pros

Good benefits and the company does a good job of hiring a diverse work force.

    Cons

Does not respect work life balance and wants you to put Cargill above your family.

    Advice to Management

Seek better management. I have heard some good things about this company, but my personal experience was not pleasant.

I worked at Cargill full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The company has been around for years so if you fit in the brutal political culture you could possibly work for them your entire life as are most low to mid level managers.

    Cons

Too much politics for a work place. The politics distract work and kill employee moral. Lower and mid level management are always pushing their agendas on other employees. If you have a horrible manager it's not worth it.
