I have been working at Carhartt full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

They make good clothing for the working person

    Cons

The company is lacking focus, leadership from the owner is weak. Too many things spinning

    Advice to Management

Focus on making great workwear and clothing - too many 'other' projects have made the company a frustrating place to work

I worked at Carhartt part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great atmosphere and customers for the most part. Was not too hard of a job.

    Cons

Awful management and upper management didn't want to fix it saying it was all the associates fault.

    Advice to Management

Upper management pick managers that have the personality to be a manager not just look good on paper.

    Pros

OK pay, Great PTO, good immediate co workers

    Cons

Too much OT and uncertainty, favoritism. No room to move up unless you're in the boys club.

    Pros

Family owned, slower paced environment and very stable business. Great benefits, flexible working environment and relatively laid back. Not a whole lot of rapid change- which can be a pro or a con.

    Cons

There is a significant number of under performers who get a pass simply because they’ve been around forever. Although never explicitly communicated, you will have to compensate for their shortcomings if you want to move things forward.

    Advice to Management

Stop holding the younger and older generations to separate standards.

    Pros

Not many to speak of. If your looking to apply here? Do yourself a favor and move on. Not a great place to work.

    Cons

Hours got cut. Management treats us like children. Lots of redundancy in the job. Management is not very good to work for. Limited benefits for sales associates

    Pros

    It's like a family.

    Cons

    Advice to Management

Don't let your ego's get in the way as much.
