I have been working at Carhartt full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Carhartt provides decent salaries, great paid time off, paid holidays, and the opportunity to buy additional paid vacation days. There are ample opportunities to advance.

    Cons

There are no cons for me.

    Advice to Management

Sometimes you have to remember that your employees are not work horses. Some are doing manual labor on their feet for 8, 10, and 12 hours a day. They do need to rest, even in the heavy season. Plan accordingly. Take care of your labor force.

I have been working at Carhartt full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Incredible culture of caring about associate well-being. Fair compensation including good benefits. Direct access to all levels of leadership.

    Cons

Almost non-existent development opportunities at almost every level of the organization. Many staffing / promotion opportunities seem to be based on personal like/dislike. Can never seem to get the past behind us when it comes to considerations for opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Heed what you are hearing about the senior level leadership - early returns from surveys suggests there's a lot of blame assignment going on through the veil of "we have this gift of information". Doesn't feel very sincere.

I have been working at Carhartt full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Time off is nice you better be able to live with your parents for a long time or a homeless shelter because your not going to make any money here

    Cons

They current management will not listen to employees at all the turnaround on employees is ridiculous. Why has all these companies gone to temporary services oh I'll tell you why they are getting kick backs that's why

    Advice to Management

Someday will be your last day to be on this great earth, do you people really want to answer for your greed and dishonesty. I hope you don't Mark let's change this why we still can

I have been working at Carhartt full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good products to sell, high standards for visual appeal and cleanliness, great employee benefits and discounts

    Cons

Hardly any advertisement for the retail sector, not very fast job growth opportunities, summers are super slow

    Advice to Management

Streamline the chain of communication and be honest and document everything.

I have been working at Carhartt full-time

    Pros

People are normally friendly and there is a good culture. The products we make are high quality and something you can be proud of. There are (optional) service projects you can get involved in if you want to, to give back to the community. It's a family held company, not publicly traded. If you've been there over a year you can get help paying for school.

    Cons

Sometimes it's difficult to get anyone to make a decision.

    I worked at Carhartt full-time

    Pros

Healthcare still allows spouses and children. Nice people in most departments.

    Cons

Politics. Terrible leaders. Only managers seem to see promotions while entire departments do not. Lots of talking behind backs. Employees are empowered as long as your supervisor knows everything you are doing.

    Advice to Management

Extreme turnover in departments means poor leadership and lack of promotion opportunities.
