    I worked at Carillion full-time

    Pros

Customer Care staff are great bunch to work with. Everyone is very friendly and get alone really well, they welcome and look out for new staff.

    Cons

Not a lot of Training , rest areas are very bad small and cramped for the amount of staff on hand.Breaks are very short considering some of the distances you have to walk to get to the break rooms or the food court your 30 minute will nearly be 15 minutes of walking to the break room eating as quickly as you can and running back again. Staff are taking for granted and Office management don't really seem to care all to much with regards to staffs overall well being which then has a negative affect on there ability to preform efficiently.

    Advice to Management

Take better care of your staff longer lunch/rest breaks in better environments.Pay could be better considering the role ground staff take on the customers that we deal with on a daily basis .Don't get paid low wage to take abuse form customers. Better training considering some of the serious situations 2 days training is not efficient to cover everything needed for this varying role.Maybe have the new staff shadow older staff so they have a better understanding of everything that is needed for the position and can answer all the varying questions that are asked.

I worked at Carillion full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Busy, easy to commute too, free parking, made lots of life long friends here. Always paid on time. Bright office big kitchen

    Cons

Constant restructures and shake ups meaning continuously put on consultation for redundancy. No communication from senior management. In 6 years me (or my colleagues) did not receive one pay rise. No bonus or benefits. Large work load. A lot of gossiping even by management. No Christmas parties! Penny pinching even came down to "if you want a new pen we need to see that yours has ran out" no development for staff unless you're a personal friend of your manager

    Advice to Management

Treat staff like adults. Communicate and live the values if you wish staff too.

I have been working at Carillion full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Fantastic colleagues, fast paced environment, no two days are the same, rewarding work, left to undertake and manage your own workload

    Cons

Severe lack of management and training. Management take zero notice of staff concerns, weeks to reply to emails. Constant change (change is never a bad thing, however implementing change every two weeks is ridiculous). Never consulted on changes.

Management have almost no idea what we're actually doing and how the different contracts work. No processes in place for anything.

Literally left to it with a 'get it done' attitude

    Advice to Management

Consult staff on changes as they're the ones actually doing the work.
