I worked at Carillon Assisted Living full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The residents are the best part of the day! Actually the only good part of the day! PCA's can move up quickly. The facility is very nice.

    Cons

Pay sucks, management sucks, wouldn't go back EVER! PCAs either are phenomenal or they are no good whatsoever. Very factitious environment.

    Pros

People on the local level are great. It's corporate that needs a huge change. There is nothing positive to say about working at Carillon

    Cons

SO much turn around and they are losing amazing people. They Do not care about employees or residents. Underpaid for everything you are expected to do. Will replace you in a heartbeat, always wanting more. Absolutely no work life balance as much as they preach about it in the interview process, expect to work over 50 hours each week.

I have been working at Carillon Assisted Living part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Clients are great and there is potential for growth

    Cons

Patient care is minimal and not taken as serious as it should

    Advice to Management

Corporate needs to take a look at pay scale. High turnover because of low pay and no incentives. Wasted money on training
People don't stay because of the pay but otherwise a good place to work for someone who is compassionate about this position

I worked at Carillon Assisted Living full-time

    Pros

I loved the residents and met some great people that will be lifelong mentors for me.

    Cons

    They overwork you, underpay you.
No appreciation for the work that we do
Care staff are treated as if they are not important to the company when they are the ones that work on the frontlines with residents daily
Corporate office doesn't offer support but comes in and criticizes everything you do wrong.
Constant turnover due to poor work environments
During my time there we went through 3 Executive Directors, 3 Business Office Managers, and 2 Resident Care Coordinators

    Advice to Management

Value your staff. Put Resident Care First because the bottom line will continue to suffer until you do.

I worked at Carillon Assisted Living full-time

    Pros

Beautiful properties. Nice concepts for care.

    Cons

Their residents are not people. They are numbers. Company focuses more on aesthetics than care. Employees are micromanaged, underpaid, and not trusted.

    Advice to Management

Put residents first. Get rid of old marketing tactics, they don't work. If your employee has a legitimate concern, consider the source and respect that employees actually have the company's best interest at heart and have no reason to make things up.

I worked at Carillon Assisted Living part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The residents are amazing people and they make working there just a little bit better.

    Cons

The management is terrible. They do not care about you AT ALL. They also pay an awful wage considering what other restaurants pay in Boulder.

    Advice to Management

Change management or start caring because nobody enjoyed working there.
