I have been working at Carino's Italian Grill full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

High turnover so if a person puts in time and effort they will have the ability to earn. Typically a good staff that will help newer and younger staff learn the job.

    Cons

High management turnover creates a mix of policy and procedures that can be hard to follow, or hard to know what's expected.

    Cons

Work life balance was not ideal. Company not expanding as aggressively as before.

    Pros

Good tips and encouraging management, 50% off employees and 30% off total ticket when dining with a group. Great teamwork, good food

    Cons

No Growth, but then again its a server/waiter position.

    I worked at Carino's Italian Grill part-time

    Pros

Flexible with school, easy to move up if you're a good employee, used to have good training. Can make cash if you want

    Cons

Extremely cheap. Would choose what liquors to buy and what not to buy even if it meant just not having something for the week. Training is now trash, and so is management

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring hot hostesses just to bang them

I worked at Carino's Italian Grill part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Decent tips, managment generally friendly, I really enjoyed being apart of that team.

    Cons

Sometimes the customers could get a little snippy.

    Pros

It's a laid back atmosphere where you can treat the managers like friends and make money at the same time.

    Cons

You have to work night, weekends, and holidays as a server. This means you get left out of a lot of the fun.

    Pros

Always a young fun staff, great corporate structure with many resources available for any help needed. The food is great and the process by which food safety and quality is met is very streamlined creating confidence in your position because there is always an answer somewhere.

    Cons

There are long hours and late nights, slightly limited in what you can and cannot do for guest recovery, advertising, community involvement, and advertising because of the corporate structure. Managing young wait staff can be tedious. A lot of extra cleaning and detail wokr is required by lower paid staff in order to ensure lower costs and to make up for the fact that they pay no outside vendors to attend to any cleaning in the restaurant so servers and cooks and bussers have to maintain all facilities.

    Advice to Management

A couple more dollars spent on abor during the day would go a long way in ensuring that the restaurant facilities were maintained properly and that guests are properly cared for. An extra couple of servers or an extra host or busser may cost us a couple of dollars in profit for that day, but a guest that does not come back because they did not have good service or food because the FOH and BOH are more worried about their cleaning responsibilties than they are about taking care of them can cost quite a bit in money we will never see because those guests never came back.

    Pros

Scheduling was flexible, management was easy and friendly, nice customers, easy job.

    Cons

Not enough shifts offered, cost-of-living doesn't meet enough business to make it sustainable. Most people have 2nd jobs.

    Advice to Management

    Management was great, no problems.

    Pros

Good people. All scheduling done online so it was easy to switch shifts, request off, etc. If you wanted to train for management they were pretty open to promotions as long as you were a good employee. Decent benefits package for hourly employees.

    Cons

Most of the managers are very young and inexperienced. The training program is very confusing.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to your employees.
