I worked at Caris Life Sciences full-time

    Pros

Caris is one of only a handful of companies leading this really exciting, ground-breaking industry. Few competitors. Great company "concept". Decent health benefits.

    Cons

Though the concept of precision medicine is exciting, Caris's vision is scattered and oftentimes ambiguous. Company goals are largely unable to be defined by executive management, leading those that are eager to support a mission to wonder aimlessly. Company updates are rare to non-existent. Unqualified, inexperienced people routinely fill executive-level, high-visibility roles.

    Advice to Management

Communicate, communicate communicate!! Empower your employees to be their best by clarifying overall goals and providing consistent feedback and support rather than continuing to allow top talent to walk out the door and right to the lap of your competitors. Take off your blinders and recognize those that truly perform, adapt, and add value - for these are your true shining stars.

I worked at Caris Life Sciences full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great pay and benefits. Free tea/coffee and occasional free lunches. Laboratory facility was well maintained.

    Cons

Had to use PTO for sick time (no separate sick days). Management doesn't care about you. If you speak up, they will find ways to retaliate. All the good people have left or been fired - again, toxic politics and nepotism. Management's inner circle are promoted, regardless of qualifications or talent. All the other negative reviews are true!

    Advice to Management

If you want to build a company that will grow and thrive, start with supporting the people at the bottom.
