As part of a large corporation, overall pay is fair.

    Advice to Management

Promote hard work and individual contribution, not just organizational success.

I have been working at Carlisle Companies full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

-Average vacation time for entry level salaried employees. -There are yearly performance wage increases. -Yearly cash bonus which is very nice. -Room for growth. The company is very generously helping older employees move toward retirement, which creates opportunities for younger folks to move up. -Stock Options and benefits. -Yearly Company Appreciation Party -Gym equipment/basketball hoop (Dependent on location)...

    Cons

-There are horror stories of people getting let go because they stood up to management. Gives a general vibe of walking on eggshells sometimes. -No Flex time (Unless you have an agreement with your manager) -Base pay could be better. Carlisle tends to get you at your local average by using their cash bonus. This is taxed heavily. -High turnover in upper management.

    Advice to Management

Be better communicators. Many times, management is unwilling to talk things out when someone has a question. They would rather push it under the rug or communicate indirectly. I would also suggest that management get in touch with current progressive trends in benefits. Much of Carlisle's policy is outdated and not current with current trends. Management should be trained in emotional intelligence. Many of the people...

I have been working at Carlisle Companies full-time for more than a year

    Pros

When there us overtime you can get plenty

    Cons

Really crappy HR personnel , only favorites get to move up and the energy here is toxic. People live to gossip and spread rumor. You constant have to look over your should even if you haven't done anything they will find something. They expect to take care of work for other areas and not pay you for it.

    Advice to Management

    Treat you employees better

    Pros

They cross train. The insurance isn’t bad.

    Cons

The insurance could be better. The pay rate compared to others could also use a little help.

    Advice to Management

Listen to where people’s true talents lie.

I have been working at Carlisle Companies full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Business is good, demand keeps rising. Plenty of work to go around. President and Vice president of ops are incredibly kind and genuinely great people to talk to.

    Cons

Lower level management is rude to employees, there is no sense of respect. Majority of coworkers are more worried about what you're doing instead of what they're not doing.

    Advice to Management

Monitor lower level management and their attitudes.

I worked at Carlisle Companies full-time for more than 10 years

      Pros

      Great pay, some fun work.

      Cons

If you’re a plant employee you might as well say goodbye to any work/life balance you even hope to have. The environment in the plant I worked in became toxic and unhappy because of all the overtime.

      Advice to Management

Set yourselves apart from other manufacturers and go back to fixed shifts. Especially on one shift operations. I really loved my job for a long time but I had to walk away from the constant no time off and rotating schedule. It’s no way to live a quality life. You will continue to lose your loyal experienced employees until you fix the environment in the plant.

I worked at Carlisle Companies full-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

If you're in the club, you're in the club

      Cons

Carlisle Brake & Friction is the epitome of the 'good ole boys club'. THere are no female managers, very little diversity, and women are not treated as if they have an opinion. I think that the culture changed positively when Ted Messmer was hired as the new President. I think he is effective and transparent and involved in all levels. That being said, I'm not sure who is responsible for all the management below...
