Pros
None, Things were bad from the start.
Cons
Illegal employment practices, poor management, under funded. “Hired” everyone on as “independent contractors” for the first 60-90 days. Yet still dictating the schedule, how and where the work was done and managed/disciplined like you were an employee….. which is the legal definition of employee. Then when it was time to get paid the excuse was “You are a contractor, there is no payment schedule.” That’s funny, because if I don’t log in on time you certainly have something to say about it! Basically they just wanted to screw you on employment taxes until they decided if they wanted to keep you. They took on a bunch of government contracts banking on the fact that the people currently performing that work under individual contracts would take huge pay cuts lying down and would tolerate not being paid for months at a time. Predictably, that did not work. They are now operating under a new corporation in a different state under a family members name.

Pros
There were no pros with the company. The only positive were the judges and other professionals who work to adjudicate cases.
Cons
I left when they stopped paying altogether. This was AFTER they had slowed payment while owing me nearly $5k for 2 months. Still owes me close to$3k which I did not get in their bankruptcy. No way should they still be in business as they left hundreds of folks stiffed for completed work.

Pros
The "voices" on the other end of the phone w/hom I dealt with on a regular basis were professional & helpful for the most part; the working hours were flexible
Cons
Contradictory & confusing company policies to which the company did not adhere; irregular paydays. Carmazzi eventually stopped paying all of its contract employees from coast to coast & then filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy, leaving a large majority of its contract workers in financial ruin, tantamount to a sophisticated Ponzi Scheme!

Cons
This company steals your money and never pays.

Pros
None. Was totally an unprofessional company.
Cons
I paid for trip to get my government ID (7 hour round trip) but never got the ID. I was never paid for the time worked. Lack of communication with anyone in the company was the norm.

Pros
This was the most dishonest company I ever worked for
Cons
They still to date owe me $12,000 I will never see. They stole millions of dollars from so many different people. They then filed for bankruptcy and left everyone unpaid. The crooks never even saw jail time.

Pros
-You work for yourself and are paid without any taxes taken out, but you'll get a 1099 -In Knoxville the Judges were all very nice to work with -Guaranteed part time work -Rate of pay per hearing isn't bad, as long as the claimants show up
Cons
-Work is inconsistent, there would be a random week thrown in where I wasn't scheduled to work at all, every month. -They request that you agree to a month's worth of work a month ahead of time (example, I had to accept/decline/change my predetermined schedule for January at the beginning of December. -Too many hearings are canceled or are no shows (you only get $5 for a hearing that was canceled without 24 hours notice or for no shows) -Carmazzi is very slow to respond to emails, I generally had to make several requests for answers to my emails, very unprofessional. -Net 60 pay is a misnomer, it's more like net 90+ -The ladies in the Knoxville ODAR Office were very cold and unfriendly once we were past the initial orientation and training. They were so sweet beforehand though, it was weird!

Pros
ZERO pros for Carmazzi. The VHR role is very flexible in terms of choosing your days. ALJ's are challenging but wonderful to work with. SSA staff are helpful.
Cons
Extremely tardy payments with a huge amount of excuses blaming SSA invoicing process. Their payment policy states the 60 day term PLUS 30 days post processing dates that happen every 15 days. Instead Carmazzi is doing payroll ONCE a month, effectively paying 2 weeks once a month!! They are forever indebted to the VHR. They are administratively top heavy and seem to pay themselves first so 'boots on the ground' earning that money are continuously shorted. With low hearing cancellation fees, you could work an 8 hour day and not earn enough to pay for lunch at McDonalds. No show VHR's seem to be scheduling goof ups on their part. Double speak communications are BS to cover poorly executed plans. DO NOT VALUE THEIR MONEY MAKERS.

Pros
If you like to be a VOLUNTEER and love being LIED TO, then this is your job!!
Cons
They will tell you it's everyone except themselves that isn't doing their job and is why you aren't getting paid. Don't let them fool you with their lies about the government not paying and Carmazzi "not allowed" to offer direct deposit or the whole "you agreed to 60 days whatever and 120 days whatever and up to 40 days late whatever". IT IS ALL LIES THAT CAN BE PROVEN BY A SIMPLE INTERNET SEARCH. THEY ARE NEW AGE GRIFTERS who take advantage of the government and ultimately COST THE TAXPAYER so they can line their pockets and their family's happiness with YOUR money.
