I worked at Carmike Cinemas full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

...seriously hard to say! I guess free movies, popcorn, and soda.

    Cons

I started as a concessionist and after 3 years of not a single raise left the company. I then worked for another theater chain that I loved for ten years until Carmike bought them out! So now I was back and stuck with the company I had left so long ago, but this time as a manager. Which then I got the brunt of the problems that this company offers. I had to call HR numerous times due to sexism, unprofessional-ism, and treatment of other employees below me. I was micro managed to the point of frustration! Everything went downhill fast -- I was able to get out just before AMC took over as there was no way I could go through another transition. I don't think I could ever work for a company this large again. It is impossible to communicate with anyone at corporate and they would rather push you out for making too much in order to hire someone new for less.

    Advice to Management

Well -- you guys don't exist anymore, but I will say... Put down the drink and listen. Treat employees with respect. Stop demeaning them. Be professional. And that doesn't come from reading a manual - it comes from experience.
