    I worked at Carnival full-time

    Pros

Camaraderie and fun lifestyle. Playing music every night! Going to Mexico twice a week. Meeting people from all over the world.

    Cons

Greedy Corporation constantly trying to squeeze as much work as possible out of you. However, this position gives you more downtime than most of the others i.e. kitchen staff, cabin stewards, staff, crew, etc. The alcohol can start to catch up with you as well...

I have been working at Carnival full-time for more than a year

      Pros

Nice, talented people and lots of opportunity to travel.

      Cons

Highly siloed with inconsistent benefits across brands. Progressive projects in select areas, but painfully slow to change in others. Very little training and development.

      Advice to Management

Leverage scale around core business functions.

I worked at Carnival full-time for more than 3 years

        Pros

People are down to earth, easy to work with. Some will become lifelong friends depending on hours/nature of work. Work is interesting and challenging enough to keep you engaged. Facilities are great (Cafeteria, Gym, Day Care, Credit Union).

        Cons

Silo departments that have difficulty communicate well. Some nepotism and bullying albeit hidden but it exists to a great extent in some depts. Hours can fluctuate greatly depending on crisis at the moment. Parking is not sufficient for the amount of staff on site on any given day.

        Advice to Management

Visibility in office does not translate to productivity. Consider alternative work arrangements (telecommuting, flex time, compressed work weeks) to accommodate space issues and positions with tasks that are performed 90% virtually. More oversight needed for offsite initiatives.

I worked at Carnival full-time for more than 3 years

        Pros

Commission and cruising perks. Health insurance. 401k

        Cons

Director and his managers are a cult and don’t let anyone in. They show favoritism on who gets promoted. Not based on performance but on who you know in management. One of the sales managers was fired for sexual harassment. They covered for him until they couldn’t anymore.

        Advice to Management

Stop using pvps for 2 years then take all their leads and hope they quit. It’s a pattern there. Stop kneeling to travel agents and stand up for your own employees.
