I have been working at Carnival full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Stability, company benefits, peaceful professional environment. Company perks offered every once in a while to employees like free lunch/ship tours as well as seasonal company souvenirs.

    Cons

Limited advancement opportunities, non competitive salaries with very low raises and even less possibility to count on solid vacation plans even if requesting a whole year in advance. Schedule changes every 6months and it isn't always as fair to your performance achievements but truly based more on seniority.

I worked at Carnival full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Office is beautiful.
    Management is available and helpful.

    Cons

Schedule was 10:50am to 7:00pm. So it was hard to get things done before or after work.

It was personally hard for me to get passionate about selling cruises but that is a personal feeling.

    Advice to Management

Don't follow people to the door if they're leaving after an eight hour shift and making 120 phone calls... It gets tiresome and very demotivating to be told that if you leave after working full time you're not working enough.

I worked at Carnival full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good people, good location and opportunity for low paying jobs. Once you reach a certain pay grade they tend to eliminate positions.

    Cons

You must watch you back especially with the PVP department, that area is full of sharks from upper management on down. Outside that area the place is good! Speak a lot of core values, but practice very few of them.

    Advice to Management

Consider your actions before eliminating someone, actually speak with the other areas that might be affected by making a blind decision based on someone who may not know exactly what is going on. There is a lot of decisions made without thought.
