I worked at Carnival full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good people, good location and opportunity for low paying jobs. Once you reach a certain pay grade they tend to eliminate positions.

    Cons

You must watch you back especially with the PVP department, that area is full of sharks from upper management on down. Outside that area the place is good! Speak a lot of core values, but practice very few of them.

    Advice to Management

Consider your actions before eliminating someone, actually speak with the other areas that might be affected by making a blind decision based on someone who may not know exactly what is going on. There is a lot of decisions made without thought.

I worked at Carnival (More than 8 years)

    Pros

You get to go on cruises, meet new people and co-workers and some manahers

    Cons

Some manager shouldn't be leaders without the proper training, work ethic and right attitude! If you can't handle the heat; get out of the kitchen!

    Advice to Management

Change your attitude, work on your work ethic and open your mind to continue to learn. The more you apply these habits to YOUR work; the more you will GROW! Also, allow co workers to grow and move up too. They deserve to grow; especially if they have the skills and background to back them up.

    Pros

Fun work environment, get to see a lot of places. All you need to get hired is "people skills."

    Cons

Work can get tedious, and contracts usually last 6 months or more with very few days off.

    Advice to Management

Build in a regular day off for each crew member at least 1-2 times per month to keep from getting run down.
