I worked at Carol's Daughter full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The products smell lovely and the front of house staff are even lovelier
WHO DOESNT WANT TO WORK AT MIRROR SALON RIGHT?

    Cons

The services are so highly priced, clients rarely, if ever tip. On top of it all, the stylists only make a 30 percent commission. the towels stink, and the managers is a thief. she steals the little tips that stylist do actually make and many products which also comes out of the salon budget. the steamer and dryers are always broken and there is never any money to fix them, ever. Not the best place to work. It is Lisa Prices "red headed step child" of an endeavor. I wish she'd show these folks some love and much needed respect.

    Pros

Gratis was always great. We're able to learn about natural hair and which products are used.

    Cons

The management especially HR was all over the place. Everyone is in this business for themselves which is why 5 out of 7 stores were shut down.

    Advice to Management

Start caring about the customers and your employees more!

    I worked at Carol's Daughter full-time

    Pros

Carol's Daughter has many loyal customers who have their favorites and will always come back.

    Cons

-Horrible turnove rate,a year or less
-Corporate doesn't implement rules, when they do its flexible for everyone and even customers
    -Terrible management
-No unity within the place of business nor at corporate
-Excuses for minor things that should be fixed

    Advice to Management

Hire people who are qualified and capable of doing the job on a corporate level and a store level. Also maintain a line of communication and understand that the company could be successful but without loyalty to employees on all levels it will never be calm and happy workers to equal more profit and ideas.

I worked at Carol's Daughter part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Loyal customers (which helps a lot), small locations, popular products, good communication between stores, small company, easy access to upper management

    Cons

not enough coverage, high turnover, horrible management, disorganized, no corporate support, disrespect from management, no free/ personal time, no opportunity for advancement

    Advice to Management

Respect is important in running a business. Treat your employees with respect. Respect the fact that they have outside lives. Upper management also needs to follow this as well. They need to listen more to the sales associates that work in the stores and stop playing favorites with the managers.

    Pros

Working for a growing company, its great to be able to think outside of the box and implement your own selling techniques within the store.

Everyone has the potential to bring outside ideas, and techniques that everyone in the company can learn so that they can become a company standard.

    Cons

No having a company standard. No standard policies and procedures when it comes to in store practices from returns to processing and entering shipment.

    Advice to Management

Implement the proper staff into fitting positions. When growing a company, you need to start off buy hiring people in that field first and then find the people from within the field that have the proper credentials. For example, dont hire a Chief of Finance from McDonalds because of his or her finance degree and or experience. Hire a Chief of Finance from Sephora or Body shop.
