I worked at Carolinas HealthCare System full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Ok pay. Most managers care a lot about the employees (depending on supervisor) IF you are not lazy, and do a good job, upper management will listen to you.

    Cons

    A very strict attendance policy

I have been working at Carolinas HealthCare System part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The manger, Suzanne Smith, is amazing. I have never had such great management that cared about your future and goals. It is a position that gives you a lot of autonomy, you work closely with a small team, the hours aren't bad and the pay isn't either. Loved working here for the past 2.5 years.

    Cons

It is a good amount of work. You are on your feet all day and because its in the healthcare world, you have to work some holidays and weekends.

Nurses on medical surgical units are responsible for the care of too many patients on most days

Hire more techs, hold them accountable for carrying out their responsibilities. Increase the hourly pay for nurses.

I have been working at Carolinas HealthCare System part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Good technology and equipment.

    Cons

Working as a Paramedic in the emergency department is a complete joke. I will admit, I 100% only maintain my employment there because the pay is nice. 99% of my shifts are spent in the lobby, checking vitals, listening to visitors and patients complain about wait times, and being asked “How much longer til we get to a room?” I occasionally apply a nasal cannula, start an IV or draw blood but otherwise, I have not used any of my paramedic knowledge.
