I worked at Carondelet Health Network full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Fantastic group of co-workers when I started; many had been there 20+ years! Real sense of community with co-workers, sense of pride, team work, we cared enough to go extra mile and it showed in the responses from our patients/families and number of admissions. Money good, reputation was excellent in community at the time.

    Cons

Management does not know how to properly stimulate, reward, promote, and truly appreciate staff in meaningful way and that goes very high up in corporate. Lack of tangible appreciation for consistent above and beyond performance. Lost some really fabulous people in all levels including management that really effected continued performance. Company not keen on grooming key employees to promote/advance in company. Projects implemented often dropped half way through so we often felt like we were spinning our wheels as what we were working towards the great majority of the time never came to fruition; that really hurt morale.

    Advice to Management

Clinical staff in management positions need training on how to be effective managers as it is a sorely lacking skill. Stop implementing changes that damage the key qualities that made the department a star with staff and the public! Loss of focus on values-Catholic based-which is what drew people for employment and services to become more "business minded" has done nothing but damage the company. Focus on follow through with projects and not dropping them half way through.

I worked at Carondelet Health Network part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great co-workers; a lot of employees committed to quality healthcare.

    Cons

Horrible Imaging Dept management. Lack of training and too few patient-care employees. Your incentive to work is the fear of losing your job. This organization has gone through roughly 25 CT Techs in the past 2 years; no one wants to work for them, at least not for longer than absolutely necessary.

    Advice to Management

    Retire tomorrow

I worked at Carondelet Health Network full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The front line people, the ones who took pride in the calling to serve the under served/privileged.

    Cons

Has been steadily going downhill. I've seen the nuns leave, being sold to Ascension then now to Tenet Health (BTW do a Internet search on this company, many problems with ethics and abiding by government regulations, see Aug. 2016 fraud settlement with Medicare).

    Advice to Management

You've brought in some real stinkers as directors to manage you company. You state on your Web page that you want to fix the problems that Tenet has had ethnically and regulatory wise, the leadership you have in place will not get you there, but the opposite direction.

I worked at Carondelet Health Network full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There was plenty of work to get done.

    Cons

The environment was often difficult to grow in.

    Advice to Management

Understand the work being done and work hard to keep the people that do the work.

I have been working at Carondelet Health Network part-time

    Pros

Great people, good benefits, on-the-job training

    Cons

Management on my unit could be improved, and the atmosphere is depressing unless you enjoy working with chronically ill older patients. I would enjoy my job on another unit, and be able to tolerate it if we were not constantly understaffed.

    Advice to Management

Staff our unit with enough techs to maximize patient care, and improve morale on the floor. After only 6 months, I am ready to look for another, happier position where I can actually do my best work. I care about the patients and I get along with most of my coworkers, but that is not enough of a reason to stay.

Great co workers, large company, Meal deductions.

    Pros

Love my co-workers, everyone helps each other out. Nurses are excellent.

    Cons

Techs are overworked most of the time and patient care suffers. But I think that's a problem at most hospitals.
