I have been working at Carpetright full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Company is good, Wages are ok, staff are fantastic, I enjoy that every day's different (customer wise)

    Cons

The only way to get ahead seems to be lazy self obsessed and pass all your duties on to the people below you so you can sit and do nothing all day. And if it wasn't for lazy manager you would keep more staff.

    Advice to Management

Said it all above. Spend more time looking at shop level, and when complaints ate made follow the up not ignore them just because they are higher.

    Pros

Really great company to work for, highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a role. The business is going through a lot of change but all for the good and to make it even better for our customers and colleagues , the changes are planned well and their is a fantastic training and communications system in place so you always know what is going on and you can learn what you need when you need it. The managers are lovely, real human beings and have a laugh at the same time as working really hard to get everything done . The store teams are brilliant and have a real family atmosphere to them.

    Cons

its busy, there is never a dull moment, not sure that's a negative though?

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing, its a great place to work and it keeps getting better.

I have been working at Carpetright full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Made some lovely friends who were way too good to work for this company.

    Cons

All carpetright are interested in is to hit their target and make some money to the point of desperation.
    Company full of snakes.
Treat their staff including their fitters like absolute dirt! They're no support from anyone and they expect staff to work ridiculous hours and give you nothing in return! No even a thank you!
STAY WELL CLEAR FROM THEM, you will regret it!

    Advice to Management

Stop being so desperate when it comes to targets to the point where working environment is dull, boring and so not fun. Don't expect so much from staff and fitters. Don't ask anyone to do something you wouldn't do yourself and treat your staff with RESPECT for goodness sake! Why do you think everybody is moving to Tapi?!!!!

    Pros

    Working with other staff members.

    Cons

Poor Support from Store Support. Line Managers just protect their own positions and do'nt offer support.

    Advice to Management

Listen to grassroots on trends and staff morale - you never know and stop KPIing everything!!!

I worked at Carpetright part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

If you desperately need something, it's still a job at the end of the day.

    Cons

Limited training, made to fill in for a manager who was hardly ever there after one month of being with the company, spoken down to by other members of staff.

I have been working at Carpetright full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Very good pay
    Good commission
    Nice uniform
CEO is one of the nicest human beings you'll meet
Those at the very top are amazing people

    Cons

    Regional management is terrible
    Bullying on a daily basis
Commission can be stopped by your Regional Manager at their discretion
    No training or support
Performance reviews are used as a tool to fire someone especially by a certain RM
No one works as a team. Every manager is in it for themselves

    Advice to Management

Don't hire Regional Managers who walk around is LV bags and Rolex's but have never put the work in personally to earn it. Stop the bullying. I have spent 9 months being called every name under the sun by a manager, when reported I was told to stop complaining and to shut up. Things need changing ASAP because it's actually an ok company to work for.

I worked at Carpetright full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Working with the product and the clientelle was the best, Good industry to work in if you have passion for sales and customer service. Great product with great potential, such a pity that they dont have the right people in the right places to make a real sucess of this type of industry where competitors of same industry line are out there smashing the market.

    Cons

Management and in-service training is non existent, pretty much left to fend for yourself , the store and who will cover you if you need day off. Lack good employees / staff memebrs with true will to work. Alot of physical work invoved, lazy people who refuse to do tasks described in their contracts... Very unfair remunirisation to those who actually dont work a stitch and those doing all the work. Managers and staff members acting very unprofessional on shop floor, just an appauling Company to work for. People have no real work ethic and the majority of staff are a joke. Very little enthusiasm , no room for growth.. Workers will continue to be trod on by others who dont pull their weight and only want to make sales , causing huge errors for not knowing certain things, just a very sad experience for me personally.

    Advice to Management

Have appropriate planning in place where lack of staff occurrs, Start employing good employees with logic and common sense, Area Managers should work in the shops where their is lack of Management and give more of themselves in a physical nature and not only on the phone. Just a bad Company to work for , very soul destroying...

    Pros

Great market brand but that's all

    Cons

No Managerial Support - poorly paid sales staff want to do nothing. Poor salaries as a starter requires you make commission - but management do not support to allow you to in the main. Management have no idea of shop level work

    Advice to Management

Start to understand who actually grows the company - a few e mails a day does f all
