I worked at Carrabba's Italian Grill full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Lovely atmosphere, and workers that are dedicated and strive to cook and serve excellent food. I felt like part of a happy family while I was there.

    Cons

What led to me leaving was the high turnover in management, and it went from a high-paced, yet, relaxed place to work, to a high-paced, high-stress atmosphere. Management began to require much more from the server staff than it was worth.

    Advice to Management

Respect your servers. Be nice to those who make you look good.

    Pros

Generous meal benefits. Great learning environment. Company principles and beliefs reflect the origin of Carrabba's

    Cons

Corporate instability. In the last 3 years, multiple high level leaders have led to widely swinging goals and priorities. Recently announced shutting down several underperforming locations.

    Advice to Management

Slow the swinging of the pendulum so as to allow all level of employees to understand what direction you are trying to drive. Revisit quality of life situation with management in stores.

I worked at Carrabba's Italian Grill part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Thorough employee training program. I started here as a brand new server and I learned a lot. I was a ken to become a bartender and trainer. Clientele is usaually good. The food is great and made from scratch. While in training they let you try the food. Opportunity for advancement to key holder or manager if that's what you're into

    Cons

Too much sidework. Some sections are not very good and you can't make as much money in those. Typical restaurant issues like managers having favorites, mandatory holidays like Christmas Eve must be worked if you are newer staff.

    Advice to Management

It's a corporate restaurant so it's all about the dollar signs. Listen to your staff and treat them well.
