I worked at Carrabba's Italian Grill part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There used to be a ton of advancement opportunities and perks for when you got there.

    Cons

I started as a server several years ago and was very quickly advanced to different training positions. Recognizing my potential, they told me that a store manager ("proprietor") position was definitely an option. I spent the next several years waiting to move up to the Assistant Manager position, the managers above me (some of the best I've worked with) waiting for their stores. Finally, those managers moved on to different companies, Carrabba's promoted a bunch of not-so-great people, and I moved on.

    Pros

As an employee you get 50% off food, they used to be good at giving raises, and the manager that is a perfectionist so be prepared to get an earful. The staff is friendly, but whiny/complains often.

    Cons

Do not reccommend working as a host.

    Advice to Management

Understand that people make mistakes some times

I have been working at Carrabba's Italian Grill full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Decent pay and good benefits. The hours have a potential to be optimal with an appropriately staffed restaurant. The product provided is also of good quality.

    Cons

Typical restaurant woes. You work many 60+ hour work weeks. Lots of potential undue stress. Many changes in upper corporate leadership shift company direction a little too much.

    Advice to Management

Stay ahead of priorities and do the best to insure the corporate standard is being held to the maximum ability.

    Pros

Bragging rights are only a pro if you are genuinely proud of what you have done for your company to make it great. Do great things, and the pros are infinite.

    Cons

Often left in the dark on your future with the company. The "psychological contract " is imperative for retaining quality staff.

    Advice to Management

Spend time getting to know your employees and their goals, invest in the people that are consistently loyal to you and your brand, and not everyone is out to get you.
