I worked at Carroll University full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Food service employees will hook you up if you are friendly

    Cons

Given 'autonomy' to make own decisions just to have department reverse your decisions without even a supervisor's consent or open conversation, openly misgender students & make excuses for own lack of professional development, promotions given to member of board of trustee's child vs. posting online for qualified candidates to apply, homophobic/biphobic/transphobic/xenophobic director of cultural diversity, lack of respect for many staff from faculty, very clique-y work environment, lack of support from supervisors--often the opposite of this, regularly told to lie on time cards so the institution wouldn't have to pay overtime. Those who most enjoy this employer appear very comfortable in their work & the lack of supervisor regular feedback/being held accountable in their role.

I worked at Carroll University part-time

    Pros

Very flexible with hours and understanding of the homework load. Managers are very patient, especially when it comes to new workers. They always have your back

    Cons

Other student workers sometimes made it harder to do the job because they would just sit there and do nothing. Other times, it was hard because they wouldn't pay attention to the processes during training and it constantly had to ask how to do something.

    Advice to Management

Maybe have one or two days, depending who is working, to have one experienced worker train with the newbies all day.
