    Pros

Nice people decent pay if your there long enough
Pleasent enviorment to work in. Decent severence packages good vacation pay

    Cons

Very unstable ridged goals slow traffic
Stores are so slow. No customers for hours
Relies on employees to call customers every
Week for store sales. Antiquated approach.
Time consuming and non productive. Has
Let many people go over the years. Works
    With Skelton crew

    Advice to Management

You.cannot rely on your employees to
Generate enough Buisness to keep your doors
Open by forcing them to make hundreds of
Phone calls constantly for presales and
Store events. Your review system is designed
For failure. You let go great employees on
A regular basis. No one is exempt. It is too
Bad. You guys could be a lot better than this

    Pros

Some employees are good some bad, same with Managers.

    Cons

Upper Management is terrible but what you do you expect in an industry losing more money than they can keep up with.

    Advice to Management

I know the retail industry is getting worse but you can at least be polite to EVERYONE!

    I worked at Carson's part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

only pro was the people I worked with, they were a fantastic group of ladies and I miss seeing them everyday

    Cons

in my department atleast, we dealt with mold and water leaking all the time. the store is understaffed and you're usually left to deal with a problem customer by yourself because management usually never gets back to you. if you enjoy working alone and being underappreciated, then this is the place for you.

    Advice to Management

I understand you guys get busy, but atleast make an effort to help when an employee is calling for some. it's of no help to come into the department way after the we've dealt with the customer and they're long gone from the department

I have been working at Carson's part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

-Coworkers are very sweet and for the most part everyone gets along with each other
    -Good associate discount
    - Management is very flexible with hours

    Cons

-You're schedule will be changed without you being notified
-There is never any store coverage so you have to juggle a bunch of stuff to yourself
-Customers are rude especially because coupons exclude everything
-Not much chances of moving up or getting a raise and if you do it won't be much

    Advice to Management

Keep in mind that associates have a life outside of work so don't schedule them outside their availability or change the schedule on them without them knowing. Not only does the person who's schedule gets messed up but it messes up coverage. Many things need to be more organized and planned out as well.

    Pros

I love what I do,I'm a cashier,I love to merchandise and good with customer service.

    Cons

Management are never in sync with one another, the pay is way to low for what your expected to do,cuts are made religiously, they don't respect you,nor do they acknowledge the good that you do, they don't schedule you but one or two days a week, just not a stable job if your on your own.

    Advice to Management

Get your crap together and start acknowledging what your loyal employees do for you, give incentives be good to them because if it weren't for us your doors would be closed,

I have been working at Carson's part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Good associate discounts
Decent lunch times (45 mins- 1 hr)
    Commission pay is good
    Acquire leadership skills

    Cons

Little to no supervision, ever since new management sales have gone down, motivation has lacked in the department. Lost great workers in 6 months after working many years with the company, due to bad management.
HR does not know what they are doing, the people they are hiring are the laziest people I've ever worked with in my many years in customer service.
The quality of service is going down because of this also.
The management and new associates do not take suggestions and advice very well. There is no room to grow in this company.
    They don't appreciate hard workers.

    Advice to Management

Fix your attitude towards employees, because you are losing hard workers for being careless and disrespectful. You are also losing the culture that Carson's has created for its customers and employees. HR needs more training or assistance, because they do not keep up with payroll and have paid me inaccurately many times and they do not take your complaints seriously. Nobody knows what they are doing.

    Pros

Friendly co-workers, centrally located to expressways

    Cons

Low paying job, too much emphasis on getting credit and email and not enough attention towards employee or customers. Hours change every day. Advancement opportunities hard to come by..
