    Approves of CEO

I have been working at Carta full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The people I work with are great. We've built an extraordinary sales team filled with hard working people who are always willing to help. The atmosphere around the office is very friendly. We're able to take time throughout the day to go on walks with people throughout different orgs to get to know them

    Cons

Because we are growing so quickly, the space available in the office is becoming less and less. We're starting to run out of desk space

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Carta full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Capable in their current line of business (Cap Table Management)

    Cons

Leadership and business line managers have no previous experience in taking a company into the Enterprise Level Clients - even though CEO says this is where the company is spending their lastest funding round. Does not understand and have a clear plan on how to grow the business and competing in the Public Markets (vs private). This leads to a change in direction, priority and focus month to month, which causes... clients to lose confidence in the ability to be a long term partner. In pursuing big clients, Carta will 'promise and commit' to building features that are not in the product if the clients commits to signing. Carta needs to understand that no large company is willing to make that bet on such a critical piece of their business

    Advice to Management

Replace existing Sr. Management that do not not have the skillset to lead the company into the future and continue to hire leaders with proven track records of success. Dont give away products and services for free and then come back and charge them 10x after theyve become a client.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Carta full-time for less than a year

    Pros

-Slick and valuable product -Great tech team -Nice office perks

    Cons

-compensation is well below market -transparency and communication: they will fire you without warning, understanding or a reasonable conversation about how you can improve (saw this numerous times to both short term and tenured employees) -"Managers and even executives are terrible at giving feedback. They have no idea what they want and then blame the people under them for having no direction." This is a quote... from another review and summarizes the management in a perfectly eloquent manner. -constantly pivoting direction and goals - very odd office atmosphere (no shoes allowed in Palo Alto office and they make SF employees commute to PA and vis versa, no need for this and a waste of everyone's time)

    Advice to Management

-stop being so addicted to the org chart and talk to people like they are valuable human beings -Henry the CEO really does say a lot of offensive things in various settings that are jarring and make people visibly uncomfortable. He is frankly not a good leader. -the fire fast approach truly drains the morale of your employees
