    Pros

    The ONLY positive thing I can say is I had great co-workers.

    Cons

    POOR MANAGEMENT! DISREPECTED, TALKED DOWN TO, AND UNAPPRECIATED IS HOW YOU FEEL EVERYDAY AT CASELLA.

    Advice to Management

    To corporate: pay more attention to how managers on a divisional level are running the business and treating employees. Never have I seen such greed, complete lack of professionalism, and disrespect. Your company is being destroyed because of the above mentioned. PAY ATTENTION!!

    I worked at Casella Waste Systems full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    The company itself is a decent company to work for. It's the local level management that is terrible.

    Cons

    The management (GM and Manager) is out for themselves only. Very small raises given until guys start leaving then suddenly they have cash to hand out, but then they treat you like garbage and throw the money in your face like they did you a huge favor keeping you on.

    Advice to Management

    Stop protecting each other and take a good look at what is going on. People leave for a reason.

    Pros

    I worked at two different locations, the first place I worked at had great training, the second not so much.

    Cons

    Beyond just not enough training, I found that some management played favorites. Not a lot of opportunity to grow unless you were buddy-buddy with someone higher up.

    Great company who values their employees and creates paths of growth for everyone and has a strong vision with the future in mind.

    wish they gave option to work from home when needed.

    give more vacation days 3 years and only 6 vacation days a year.

    Pros

    Good work environment. Feels family owned/run even though it's a public company. Great co-workers

    Cons

    Poor communication from upper management sometimes leads to confusion and anxiety. I didn't hear or see a clear strategy for the future. Seems like they are constantly trying to figure out what to do next

    Advice to Management

    Welcome young fresh ideas in to the company! Take stock of the good people you have and do everything you can to keep them and reward them.

    Pros

    Clean work space, ability to decorate as desired within reason.

    Cons

    Unclear growth expectation, workload, outdated software, high call volume expected, management misleading in expectations. Unclear dress code.

    Advice to Management

    Please be more clear about job expectations and growth, and don't approve time off if it will be used against the employee even though it was approved.

    Pros

    Consistent paychecks, just show up and they will love you.

    Cons

    High turnover for laborers and many absences, poor management-not knowing how nor having the ability to drive Class A or B, scheduling changes often, below industry wages

    Advice to Management

    Figure out how to staff, hire management with licenses to back up absences and know about jobs, learn routes, plan, learn efficiency, split routes evenly, pay base on productivity not on hours- you are rewarding people for subpar efforts.
