I have been working at Casey's General Stores full-time

    Pros

Better quality food ingredients. New equipment. Good sales/prices to draw in customers.

    Cons

Hired me full-time, but only gave me 13 hours per week my first 4 weeks. NO training first 4 weeks; just stocked shelves with new product and cleaned up after area store managers trashed our new store. Store managers would not train us because they said they would be the ones to do all the work when our new store opened. However, if we had gone to work for an existing store, we would have been trained so we could do our job.

    Advice to Management

Re-structure how you train kitchen staff in new stores. My Store Manager said Casey's couldn't understand why Casey's lost so many new hires when they opened new stores. This could be alleviated if only one Store Manager trained his/her new staff. The new employees simply need to be trained (by one Store Manager). If you can start doing that, you will start keeping your new hires. You do not need to have 5 different Store Managers from nearby stores tell staff to do things 5 different ways in your new store openings. The Store Managers started taking it out on the new staff when their "idea" (one idea out 5 other Store Managers) wasn't being implemented. New employees do not need to be drawn into this drama.

I have been working at Casey's General Stores full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Fun and fast paced work environment. Amazing managers that provide support at anytime. Good wages, and benefits. The customers are amazing!

    Cons

Communication could be better with HR and benefits. An on-site HR rep or someone to come to each store to explain benefits would help a lot.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing! Your daily support is appreciated.

I worked at Casey's General Stores full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pretty good pay, not too much bull shot. Making pizzas was fun. Easy to get full time hours. Fun coworkers

    Cons

The pay wasn’t that great and the pos system was outdated and frustrating. Sketchy people because it was open 24 hours a day

    Advice to Management

It would be better to get schedules out ahead of time because that was always a problem at my location. Stricter cleaning checks would be good for the pizza stuff
