I worked at Cash Store full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Employees get pay raises every month and also have the opportunity to earn monthly bonuses.

    Cons

The hours are long, Saturday's are always mandatory, and the bonuses are very difficult to obtain. Insurance was not the best and it is hard to go to a doctor with the work hours.

I have been working at Cash Store full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The Cash Store provides extensive training to new hires and management follows up regularly to make sure employees are settling in well to the store. There is room for advancement and compensation is highly competitive. There are frequent pay raises.
The district manager comes to the store frequently to provide additional training in customer service, company policy, and compliance regulations.
There is a strong support system in place from upper management. When an issue arises that needs an immediate answer the district and regional manager are always able to quickly help.

    Cons

Employees are scheduled to work every Saturday. Paid time off isn't available until after 1 year. The managers try to accommodate time off requests but it's not a guarantee.

Insurance isn't great but kicks in quickly.

I worked at Cash Store full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It's great experience and you learn a lot about issuing loans and collecting on customers.

    Cons

Before I got promoted, I was built up and told how great I was. After, I was constantly criticized and made to feel stupid. They were so back-and-forth with what they asked me four. I worked that 18 months and had four different managers.

I worked at Cash Store full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Good pay
    Frequent raises
    Insurance and benefits

    Cons

Managers always micromanaging every little aspect of the store.
Too much back and forth between upper and lower; was told one thing by operations then get scolded by manager for doing it "wrong" so no one can agree how job is supposed to be done
Make a friend tests! This is not 3rd grade, I don't need a test on how to talk to customers
Managers show up out of nowhere without and heads up and are "graded" on how well you are doing
Constant scrutinizing and nit picking at the littlest things
Always felt like I was walking on eggshells here
Very high turn over rate will fire you for no reason !
6 days a week, no reason to be open on saturdays barely anyone comes in

    Advice to Management

Stop treating your employees like children and learn to speak with your higher ups.

I worked at Cash Store full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

None that i can think of....

    Cons

-SAFETY, Cash stores were robbed every week and we weren't provided security?!!
-The 9-10+ hour shifts and having to take longer lunches to burn overtime.
    -Having to fight for Saturdays
-Selling garbage loans to people that are down and out...
-Knowing that people will default, but still having to give the loan to them anyways...
-Store bonuses when i worked there were impossible to reach, only did it once.
-It's literally management's job to find anything wrong with you and criticize. I have heard managers go into the back and have 'meetings' where they talk smack about other workers and it seems like they find any reason to fire people.
-Management will pick favorites and don't expect to stay their favorite if you think you are...

    Advice to Management

-Somehow create a work culture where employees don't constantly feel like they can be fired at the drop of a hat every Monday.
-Hire security please... no one likes being robbed

    Pros

None that I can think of....

    Cons

-No security, and stores were getting robbed every week.
You literally will be giving out GARBAGE loans to people who are down and out of luck, and you will know that they will most likely default on it.
    -Unethical business practices.
-Management are shady and not to be trusted.
-10+ hours a day and having to shave off overtime during lunches.
-Management likes to pick favorites. They have little 'meetings' in the back where i have heard them talk smack, and nitpick anything wrong with other employees. It is their job criticize you.

    Advice to Management

-Do something about security please. No one likes getting robbed.
-Try to create a work culture where employees aren't threatened by job security and having to worry about being employed that next Monday.

I have been working at Cash Store full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good pay, you get all of your hours, vacation/health benefits/401k after a year. Easy work.

    Cons

They don't seem to care much about their employee's. Sure the benefits are better than you'd get elsewhere but there's no open communication. You worry if you speak up there's a chance you'll get fired. They micromanage. It's not an enjoyable work environment. They expect you to put the company before everything.

    Advice to Management

Care more about your employee's and they'll care more about their jobs and your company.

    Pros

None. This place is absolutely ridiculous and they expect you to meet unrealistic goals that never benefits you, just the company itself... STAY AWAY!

    Cons

Atmosphere. Management. Low Paygrade. Stupid Job Titles like "Store Manager" when there's only two people in the whole store. These people are just complete crooks.

    Advice to Management

Please get your act together and understand that people are not just numbers but human beings!! Your training is absolute bogus and repetitive with no payoff in the end!

    Pros

Extensive customer service experience while learning how to up-sell. Learn how to handle large amounts of cash and complete bank drops.

    Cons

Frequently robbed at gun point. Management is horrible and very picky how things are done. Job entails taking advantage of people who're in a financial crisis.

    Advice to Management

Stop taking advantage of people and become a respectable business

I have been working at Cash Store full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Great starting pay, over time

    Cons

you work 6 days a week, at prime hours of the day, you will never see your children, no flexibility, hard to get time off or get your store covered, every thing you do and say is under a microscope, even when you are doing your best they will still find something wrong. If you do not hit your unrealistic store numbers prepare to be canned.

    Advice to Management

care more about the employees. give job security. Have more flexibility as far as scheduling and hours go
