Surrounded by great people to work with, dedicated to education (as opposed to some university faculty who view teaching students as "the penance they pay" for having an opportunity to conduct research), creating a well respected institution.
Salaries are highly dependent on the fluctuations of the energy market. Expensive/time-consuming to get to anywhere else in the country.
Advice to Management
Quit creating new paradigms for program reviews. The reasoning that "Sure, it's a lot of work but you only have to do it once, then just tweak it every year after that" doesn't work if you create a new paradigm every three years or whenever a new administrator comes on board (whichever comes first).
The people were great for the most part. It was a pretty positive place full of interesting people.
They never cancelled school for snow days! But then again, it is Wyoming.
