I worked at Cassidy Turley full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits. Health and 401k above average.

    Cons

Below average pay. Long hours. They were implementing a new system which made it additionally difficult. I haven't been there since they were bought by DTZ.

  2. "Property Manager"

    Pros

A better than average place to work and there is opportunity for advancement but you have to understand that there is much hungry competition.

    Cons

Lots of changes...and mergers but that happens in CRE. Management is too top heavy.

I worked at Cassidy Turley full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Hourly rate is good but not worth it on how they treat employees

    Cons

Some people kick you down if you want to succeed

    Advice to Management

Be more profesional in the treatment of others

I worked at Cassidy Turley full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

They have pretty good benefits. More company holidays than most.

    Cons

Being on call 24/7/365 gets tiring and for a company of that size they should be able to come up with some kind of an on call rotation.

I worked at Cassidy Turley full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Overall company has potential to be great. Nationwide in size. 3rd party manage my in all areas of Real Estate sales and management.

    Cons

La Jolla Office/Property Management Dept: Extremely toxic work environment. Management verbally abused employees ranging from property managers to senior level management. Multiple employees claimed workers comp/medical leave due to extreme stress caused by management. Multiple employees cried at work due to the way they were spoken to in front of others (very demeaning, rude, ridiculed, embarrassed, negative reinforcement). Playing favorites was a common theme and if you didn't join their ill mannered treatment of others then the opportunity of advancement was off the table. Many employees quit due to these issues.

    Advice to Management

Do an anonymous survey of managers and you will see who is causing such bad working conditions. Management has lost many great employees due to a few bad apples.

    Pros

People are relatively nice. Work is straight forward. Office is located within a central location that was convenient.

    Cons

Not a large sense of community and relationships between departments and teams. Very much a boys club.

    Advice to Management

Have more team events. Provide more transparency to employees. Provide more opportunities to speak with management perhaps all hands meeting on a monthly basis.

I worked at Cassidy Turley full-time

    Pros

Some decent co-workers, but not many pros to mention.

    Cons

Work overload to the point of breaking & if you raise a concern, it is thought you are a poor employee. No appreciation for contributions. Poor interaction between property management and brokerage. Complete lack of training.

    Advice to Management

Model yourself after a successful company, and train your leaders to lead appropriately.

I worked at Cassidy Turley full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Employees have a ownership of broad responsibilities. Investment in growth of stable fee service lines such as property management and corporate services. Successful platform to support and grow junior brokers while also implementing competitive incentives to attract senior talent. Generally hire good candidates and hold employees accountable.

    Cons

Leadership quality varies greatly by market, both in business acumen, humility, respect, and integrity. Long term retention difficult due to challenging workloads. Incentives for many salary or partial-salary-partial-commission positions are not aligned with value creation. Culture continues to shift since transition from original CEO, Mark Burkhart.

    Advice to Management

The quality of leadership in even some preexisting markets slipped greatly as resources were spread to focus on the initial Cassidy Turley geographic expansion. Standardization to support a growing company has decreased the agility of associates to support varied clients. I voluntarily left as a VP for a position of lower title, much higher pay, more flexibility, slightly better medical and retirement benefits, and culturally more consistent, respectful, and with admirable integrity. Although the "location" below is identified as St. Louis, I worked in different markets through my career with Colliers Turley Martin Tucker / Cassidy Turley / DTZ, and have worked with various markets and senior leaders.

    Pros

    Good benefits reasonably priced
    Flex-time
The team I was on was a fun team

    Cons

The pay increases were very minimal. Our team manager gave the women on our team an average of 4% and the men were less that 1%
