    Pros

Great team work within Corporate office and Accounting Department. Store staff is often pleasant and easy to work with.

    Cons

Accounting department overloaded with work. There is a lack of adequate training to do the job correctly the first time. Before the mandatory COVID-19 government shut-down, the atmosphere at Castle was much happier. After coming back from the lay-off, the job became a chore. The atmosphere had changed and I am not sure why.

    Don’t do it.

    Pros

The customers are great, pride week was always fun.

    Cons

Do not work for this company if you want to be treated with dignity or respect. They do not care about your physical safety or health. Scheduling is horrible and they do not give you the tools to do your job properly and then they will irrationally yell at you for not reaching their KPI. The owners and upper management are not kind people. They will treat you and your co workers like garbage.

If you’re a glutton for punishment work here!

    Pros

Great customer interaction. Sometimes they send you the “prizes” you earned... if you’re lucky

    Cons

You will be expected to work for long periods without breaks, management doesn’t give a hoot about employees AT ALL. (Btw you’re break room is a bathroom with a microwave in it) you will be expected to over preform outrageously high sales goals and be threatened constantly.

    Great company to develop with

    Pros

Goal driven company; Everyday you know what you need to make to help the store achieve goal. It makes you feel like you're truly part of the success and growth of the company. Laid back environment; You can really engage with the guests on a personal level and provide them with one-on-one service. In-the-moment coachings; you get real time feedback on your performance and where you need to improve. Product knowledge trainings; vendors, distributors, owners, etc. take their time to come to home office and give sneak peeks about new product lines as well as educating the team on how to sell the product (learning straight from the "horse's mouth") they also take our feedback into consideration on any lines and take it back to their corporate office. Excellent benefits package; company provides health, dental, and vision insurance for those who opt in, they also have a generous 401k match as well as sponsored life insurance. Bonuses and incentives; the company has a tax free "build-your-own" monthly bonus program for all Associates who can exceed their monthly sales goals. The company also partners with vendors who provide monthly spiff prizes to the top selling associates in each store. Competitive hourly pay with paid time off and paid holidays for store management. Small husband and wife owned company makes it easier to communicate directly to employees in the corporate office (if in a local store) for any needs as well as direct communication to the owners themselves (Mark LOVES to talk). Fast paced environment for those that like to stay on their toes. Ability to travel and help other stores in times of need.

    Cons

More advancement into corporate for Store Managers that want a corporate career. Hours are based on the needs of the business so full open availability with weekends and holidays as a must. This can be a challenge for associates that want to take family vacations. Company does not pay out FTO making it useless to associates that cap out and aren't able to use it before it expires. Longer retail hours (some stores stay open as late as 1am on weekdays or 3am on weekends) making it difficult to balance your personal life or hard on mother's with small children waiting at home.

Not Worth Your Physical and Mental Health

    Pros

One of the highest paying retail jobs in the state. Coworkers can be amazing.

    Cons

Requires employees to meet metrics that are practically impossible to attain without screwing over your coworkers and/or sharking sales. The company has no real HR department. Standards are astronomically high. Be prepared for a butt chewing if you do anything wrong. Micromanaging makes you want to repeatedly bang your head on a wall until you have ahead injury, but if you try to leave work early for any kind of sickness or emergency you are treated with suspicion. If you repeatedly work morning shifts be prepared to never make your goals. There is no sort of understanding from corporate. Your coworkers can also make the job torturous depending on who they are. Corporate lures you in with talk of tax free bonuses, but you only get them if you make your goal for the month, and then some.

Great Place to work with opportunity for growth

    Aug 6, 2019 - Store Manager

    Pros

I have been with Castle for quite some time and the company is continuing to grow and evolve, this has not changed since day 1 of my employment. Owner is involved and gets things done for his stores, if issues arise, he solves them, that is IF store teams are collaborative and notify headquarters of said issues. Company believes in organic growth and promoting from within, there have been countless internal promotions from my store alone, myself included. The company offers many benefits, (medical, vision, dental, a VERY generous 401k match, STD, paid FTO, HSA, etc.) sales bonuses, and runs MANY contests. Great place to work, corp understands that the company wouldn't run without their "boots on the ground" teams and they do everything they can to take care of them.

    Cons

    - From a management perspective, it can be hard to hire quality people, not everybody wants to sell explicit product and those that do sometimes aren't the best characters. - Non-traditional retail hours, we work late (or early, depends how you want to look at it) and it can make it tough to balance your personal life. - It can be hard to use time-off you've earned, between blackout dates, other stores needing assistance, staffing, and events, your personal plans come last. We work hard and not only want to go places and see things but sometimes we just need to veg out and recharge so we can come back and make a greater impact. The Pros FARRRR outweigh the Cons

    Pros

Solid company, great development, fair pay and benefits, monthly bonus and prizes. I don't feel like my job is in jeopardy like a lot of other retailers. I make my numbers because I put the work. Started as a sales associate and been promoted up several times over 3 years.

    Cons

    later than regular mall hours

    Pros

-fun and interesting work environment -multiple locations and possibilities to transfer to different locations/states -opportunity for advancement -bonus/incentives for reaching sales goals -associates work as a team -employee discount -ongoing training and personal development -benefits and paid time off -technology infrastructure and resources

    Cons

-non traditional retail hours may conflict with some people. Most locations are open until 1am/2am. I am a night owl so I personally don’t see this as a con.
