    "Sales Representative"

Former Employee - Sales Consultant in Wilmington, NC

I worked at CastleBranch full-time for more than 2 years

      Pros

Pretty much like a high school. Breaks whenever you want, bean bag chairs, ping pong, and minimal management.

      Cons

Pay is terrible. Management is more of a babysitting crew there to make sure you hit your call numbers per day and not interested in teaching/helping you how to sell the products.

      Advice to Management

Hire people who can be respected.

We listened. We had heard this similar type of comment in the past so earlier this year we brought in a fantastic leader for sales who has steadily been making changes and improvements. Hitting call goals is no longer a must. If you are doing your job the numbers will be reflective ...

I worked at CastleBranch full-time for more than a year

      Pros

There is a lot of freedom here in the sales department. You can go outside and smoke as many cigarettes as you would like. You can go play ping pong and skii ball. You basically make your own schedule. As long as you are at 39 hours at the end of the week. You can go walk around the buildings and get a good work out in.

      Cons

This company is EXTREMELY unorganized. The will hire and fire as they please just to meet the requirements of the city of Wilmington. They continuously make promises that are never met. They pay their employees horribly. Most under paid sales reps across the nation. This is a failing business. The clients are mostly extremely unhappy. We cannot meet the goals of colleges and university. They dely the on boarding process...

      Advice to Management

Keep your promises. Listen to your employees. Try and retain your top representatives. Make insentives to try and make up for the lack of pay and actually follow through with that.

      Pros

Free bagels on Mondays, can smoke cigarettes all day long if you so choose.

      Cons

HR is horrible, they cancelled my health insurance the day I quit although I paid for the entire month. HR doesn't care about their employees. They had a woman on the FBI 's most wanted list working for the company who only got fired when two police officers came in looking for her!! They have drugs addicts who live in halfway houses working there. This place is an unsafe environment and it is scary to think that they...

Bagel Monday Drink anytime you want...even after hours skeeball ping pong games that lasted all day

      Cons

You get let go due to "budget reasons" after two years, but then find out they have a hiring spree two weeks later and said that you could apply again. That makes zero sense dumb people. Just keep me on and release the new people that I just trained to bring into the company. Thank you for letting go of a solid worker and trainer for your company.

      Advice to Management

Wait....there's management here? I saw ZERO of this from my time there. ZERO.

I worked at CastleBranch full-time for more than 2 years

      Pros

Free bagel Monday. Super gossipy co workers, so there is definitely a lot of communication between employees. The extremely poor pay allows employees to develop great budgeting experience. The gym allows for lovely loud rap music to be heard on all floors throughout the day. Super comfortable chairs in downstairs allow for easy napping experiences. Cons

Castlebranch was required to hire X number of people by the city of wilmington, because they paid for their building. Basically as long as they keep this revolving door of employees rolling the city won't come down on them. They have a department that sells exclusively to colleges and universities that make them boatloads of money, anyone else who isn't in that division is irrelevant, and they don't try to hide that fact.

      Advice to Management

Not that you'll read it, but it gets old hearing them talk about how creative and innovate they are while we sell products that can't compete in the market because they are wayyy too expensive or too wildly inefficient. Invest in a lead system that doesn't involve your reps calling the same HR departments every single week. Also, stop hiring people in operations to management positions in sales, who clearly know nothing...

      Pros

Ping pong tables, food trucks, free unlimited coffee, I'm really struggling to come up with the twenty word minimum required to leave this review

      Cons

Poor training (she's arrogant and loves herself almost as much as Kanye loves himself). INCREDIBLY boring. Cold calling to company's human resources departments (nearly all of which consider you a waste of their time) terrible pay, vague requirements from superiors who expect unattainable goals. Awful all in all.

I worked at CastleBranch full-time for more than 2 years

      Pros

There are some amazing people who work here with HUGE hearts! Unfortunately none of them have any power to make positive change. They are all afraid of losing their jobs if they speak up about problems or issues. This is true all the way up to the C level exec team.

      Cons

None of the elements added to try and make this a “cool” working environment are truly for the employees or their benefit. Also, the “cool” work environment has eroded the professionalism that a company of this size should have. There is a gym, but it seems like it was created for those outside the company rather than for the use of employees. Classes are held during working hours and attendance at these classes (or rather...

      Advice to Management

Listen up. Actually hear your employees and take their advice. People are not fooled by the smoke and mirrors you throw up. It is apparent that you do not genuinely care about your employees, their wellbeing, their family life. Forget all of the distractions (brewery, gym, food truck, Ping-Pong tables, skee ball) focus on your core business. Adequately and appropriately reward the people who are giving everything in support...

      Pros

Casual dress code, a few (very few) honest co-workers who actually have morals and integrity

      Cons

What starts out a s a seemingly wonderful job will quickly sucks the life out of you. The departments are like as one reviewer put, going back to high school. Actually it's more like junior high, the maturity level is below even high school. The majority of upper management is in place due to friendships with the owners. Some middle management is in place for this same reason, some because they need a few people who will...

      Advice to Management

Stop thinking only of yourselves. Being a supervixor or a manager comes with a moral responsibility. Care about productivity but care about people and integrity more. Stand by your word and your actions and make sure they are honest and honorable. Don't promote people just because they kiss up to you or agree to "extracirricular activities" with you. If you are bi-polar or just feel that it's okay to be two-faced and...
