    Pros

Entrepreneurial and fast paced environment. Constantly looking to further employees to achieve more than their potential. Will give traders time to make money with sensible risk allocation. Always paid above market rate.

    Cons

I wish I had joined sooner

    Pros

Great work location. Office Supply is always sufficient. Desks are easy to access to and communicate.

    Cons

Top local manager does not respect his subordinates and treats employees as inferior class of people. He frequently uses inappropriate language towards company employees which hurt people's feeling so much that multiple employees even burst out of tears in public with such insult. This results in low morale across office and more importantly, such behavior likely posts the risk to the company from the litigation by unfairly...

    Advice to Management

Absolute power leads to absolute corruption. To build a mechanism to supervise/oversee the local management from other locations. Make sure there are multiple communication channels to send local mgt feedbacks to HQ, but not just the top local mgt self.

    Pros

PPT skills can be improved dramatically as no trades can be executed until a 30 pages fancy slides are prepared. Good health and medical benefits. Family members are covered as well. Nice offices with free drinks and snacks

    Cons

Manager knows nothing about running trading business. Love to write PPT with endless revisions in the format before doing anything useful. One of the highest turnovers in trading house peers. Manager fires lots of people but unable to hire any good traders. Office empty rate over 80%. Often yelling at direct reports in Shanghai with dirty words but flatter every senior management from the headquarters. Manager shows...

    Pros

Decent compensation and benefits; Ambition to grow business globally.

    Cons

Commitment to China business is confusing and contradictory. Leadership to such commitment is weak. Communication with local office is non-existent. While conceding the failure of China venture and winding down its business with significant losses to shareholders, the company probably still has no idea what went wrong and what are the lessons learned.

    Advice to Management

Enhance the communication with local office people to investigate the real causes of business hiccups there.

"Fast growing commodities trading firm, but can be challenging for a junior person"

    Pros

Great platform for commodities traders. Some of the smartest people I've ever met at the firm's top level. Performing traders are compensated very handsomely. Company is growing quickly and has offices around the world. The company makes earnest efforts to retain talent and is generally willing to work with its employees to accommodate their needs.

    Cons

Some of the front-office leadership can have "quirky" personalities that take some getting used to when working with them. People tend to be possessive with their junior resources, making it difficult for junior people to get broader exposure to different groups. This can be challenging for younger professionals looking to figure out what they want to do with their careers.
