I worked at Castrol India full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great work life balance.
Fantastic value system - Safety, Respect, Excellence, Courage, One Team.
    Respect their employees
    Market leader.
    India is a key market
    MNC Culture and work opportunities.
    Safety is core to everything.
One of the most iconic brands to work for.
Part of BP - One of the Top 10 companies in the World.

    Cons

A little too process oriented (Which isn't necessarily a bad thing)
Could be a bit more ambitious

    Positive Outlook
    Approves of CEO

    Pros

    1. Month on month, year on year growth possible in some areas of development.
    2. Castrol is recognized by industry experts (for good or bad, their experience but at-least they know).
    3. In aftermarkets they have separate sales channel for B2B and B2C, Including sperate channel for Rural Markets.

    Cons

Internal growth is almost impossible (no promotions), they have process of Job rotations where same grade transfers take place though internal postings.
They get new RSMs / Managers from Top B-schools who have half knowledge of market ( as they never visit market, which is coming only from training got internally). They simply can't understand how to do business in Indian Bazaar (channels/ aftermarket). They put unnecessary pressure on Area Managers for achieving unreal numbers.

    Advice to Management

Please focus on OEMs, Competition in After Markets is now fairly working close to OEMs.
