I have been working at Cataldo Ambulance Service, Inc. full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The best Paramedics and EMTs providing exceptional care in spite of below industry standard benefits and pay.

    Cons

Terrible pay scale, high health insurance premiums, tiny 401k match, morale at all time low.

    Advice to Management

Make a real effort to improve morale with a real yearly raise program. Make efforts to show employees are the most important thing to the company and family not reducing payroll.

I have been working at Cataldo Ambulance Service, Inc. part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Infinite shifts (you can work like a dog if you want), some decent 911, alternatively (you can join Boston division and do no work for $)

    Cons

Bases are rather far and in weird locations, $0.25 increase/year, faceless employer, difficult small parking lots, dispatch is usually overbooked with calls

    Advice to Management

if it is true that new hires will be making $14, everyone else better go up $0.75 or people will riot

    Pros

Great place to get your foot in the door. Lots of 911 contracts including dedicated BLS 911 shifts.

    Cons

Low pay. Some ALS members think they're better than everyone else.

    Pros

Hires without prior EMS experience, pays marginally more than a few other area companies

    Cons

Communication between company divisions is poor and they could benefit by training their new recruits more

I have been working at Cataldo Ambulance Service, Inc. full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Feels like running errands rather than work sometimes. Coworkers are good company. You're Not stuck in one room all day.

    Cons

It's a lot of physical work, which wouldn't be so bad if the pay made up for it. But it's not worth it in my opinion.

    Advice to Management

Raise the pay and pay more attention to how employees feel

    Pros

Benefits ~ but they are too expensive. They restock trucks and med supplies asap and chase your ambulance down to get them to you. They have an extensive list of things to check off before your truck even hits the road including checking all devices like the AED, med boxes, down to the gluclose meter. They are very organized.

    Cons

Salary is terrible. Chair car is $10 hr should be $15 minimum. EMT $13.25 should be $20 minimum and Paramedics $16 hr should be $25 min. You should also be able to get dental without being forced to take the health insurance to get it. Vacation time accrued.... They eat it if you want a paid holiday. That is nuts!!!!

    Advice to Management

Pay more. We deserve it. Stop using our vacation time for paid holidays or sick pay. Allow us to get dental without having to take the medical insurance. Give praise to those who deserve it.

I worked at Cataldo Ambulance Service, Inc. full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Gained a lot of experience of area, lots of friends. Had some great times before the drastic changes in company.

    Cons

Management was poor. You were treated as a number and expected to work like a robot. I ended up being terminated without a clear expectation as to why. Attendance is overly enforced, but good luck finding the Boston division manager

    Advice to Management

    Treat the help better
