I have been working at Catalent Pharma full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Catalent Pharma Solutions is a wonderful company to work for if you are an individual looking for challenging opportunities in the CDMO space - especially if you are seeking manufacturing or operational experience. I thoroughly enjoy the work ethic of the people I work with, the fast-paced nature of my job, the impact I stand to make for our patients, and especially the fact that upper management has our back. This is critical - the people at our site have significant exposure to management and the prospect for quick appreciation and promotion is high.
A brand new facility, top of the line instrumentation, a lot of friendly, new faces, and a new cafeteria make this a great place to work at.

    Cons

The benefits package can definitely be improved (profit sharing across the site), and a better work-life balance is something that should constantly be encouraged and fostered. This site encourages a hardworking ethic and those of us who love what we do are rather happy - not for the faint of heart.

    Advice to Management

    More cross-departmental events and get-togethers.
A profit sharing agreement and stock options.

I have been working at Catalent Pharma full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I really enjoy the work environment. They are currently working on brining fun activities to the site, encouraging employee engagement, and sometimes there is random free food. Most teams seem to work really well together and form a close group, but people are still friendly between departments. I'm really surprised how well this company is handling their rapid expansion.

    Cons

Needs more parking space as a growing company, but I think they are working on this issue.

I have been working at Catalent Pharma full-time

    Pros

    Only work half weeks.
    Decent pay.
Plenty of smart people to learn from and work with.
    Free parking.

    Cons

Tons of upward mobility if you are willing to divorce your family and live there.
Production management has no control moving at full speed and driving each other and everyone else crazy.
If you go against the grain, you will paint a target of your back - retaliation is a must.
Meaningless meetings at all levels - this company has way too many time wasters.
Senior management will preach a good game in big "town hall" meetings - meaning does not make it to the shop floor.
    Benefits are lacking.
Employees have to work they're Holidays if the holiday falls on a scheduled day.

    Advice to Management

You have the wrong people in the wrong places. If you get off your chairs you would see it. Holidays should not only be Holidays for office people. The people on the floor actually making you money and their families should be respected as well. Shutting down the place once a year to allow for preventative maintenance to be done on machines will greatly reduce the equipment problems and will give your people a deserved brake.

    Pros

Three shifts available, as well as customizable weekend shifts fo 40 hours a week. Management is typically effiicient and sensitive to employee needs.

    Cons

Not all "chemists" are really chemists. Politics are a huge part of the job. Training is typically insufficient, even for experienced chemists.

    Advice to Management

They need to be more attentive and understand that there is a learning curve to this position. Many employees are not skilled in explaining techniques and you will not hold the job if the employees don't like you
