    I worked at Catamaran full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    I don't work there anymore, that has to be the best thing about that place now. Took too long getting out of there.

    Cons

    Bad management, bad training, bad culture, bad employee relations, constant lies, mandatory ot, bad knowledge base, no employee morale, nothing can fix this place.

    Great overtime, better work schedule was fun work environment

    The company and people are great. Great working environment.

    If I had to pick a con for Catamaran I would say they need more employee acknowledgment,

    Free drinks, bagels, casual Fridays.

    Cons

    Management creates the hostile working environment. Beginning with the director, general manager was the worst.

    Clean house with management, start over with leaders, who lead by example.

    In this company they only Hired they own kind if you are Filipino i guess you Fit in the supervisor in this company is very young and unprofessional and bury ignorant. They hired their family members the rest of the employees are temporary help. if you get a job from a temporary and you see about this job stay away from it you won't last too long and will be treated like crap

    Management needs to get a book how to treat employees for dummies

    Pros

    Don't work at Catamaran because you can't. It doesn't exist anymore. Catamaran was okay when the people that made it successful were there, but they are all gone now. The best part about working at Catamaran was being able to help people that really needed it.

    Cons

    Catamaran no longer exists because of incompetent management. Promoting the wrong people into positions where they couldn't perform the necessary basic functions created major problems that made ripples of failure that were impossible to remedy for at least 10 years.

    Advice to Management

    When the stars align again the healthcare industry can expect to receive a long overdue shot in the arm because this work is far from over.

    I have been working at Catamaran full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Decent pay. Some members of management actually care about their employees, mainly in the call center department. Some of the employees are nice.

    Cons

    Once a great company but has rapidly declined with each buy out. There's no real interest in employee satisfaction & engagement, despite the constant talk of it...there's no action. If any, it's laughable. Upper level management are known to promote people based on personal reasons, qualified or not. They ask for feedback but they don't really want it unless it's all positive. Transparency is pretty much null. For a healthcare company, the health benefits are okay. The new benefits under Optum are horrible.

    Advice to Management

    Your employees are a large key to company success. The culture is extremely antiquated. Stop saying you care and actually prove it with better incentives and growth opportunities. Become more transparent. It's not hiding as much as you think and only causes friction.

    -treat employees with more care. there are a lot of talented people and you can't afford to lose them with their knowledge base.
