I worked at Catapult Consultants (Less than a year)

    Pros

Catapult was one of the better companies that I worked for. The health benefits were excellent. Project Manager check on my well-being, frequently. (monthly lunch) The salary was also great.

    Cons

Other than my contract ending and not having any place else to place me, I do not have any complaints about this company.

    Pros

Pay is great/above average but can definitely be better.

    Cons

Management is HORRIBLE. Whenever you bring up an issue to management, they like to throw the blame onto you or spin things around so it is in their favor. There is no point in bringing up issues with management because all they do is make you run in circles without actually solving the issues. If Catapult is so concerned with contracts, why are they condoning the terrible unprofessionalism that is happening in the workplaces which can potentially jeopardize the contracts? The management people at Catapult are idiots who don't know how to handle issues even if it hit them in the head. No wonder there are so many disgruntled employees.

    Advice to Management

Don't bother trying to win contracts if you are going to treat your employees like disposables. At one point, people are going to leave because of how messed up the management is.

    Pros

Hands-off management style. Proximity to DC, and more specifically the numerous federal agencies located in the area, should allow for continued business. Very relaxed and even-keeled environment. The company goes out of their way to notify you of internal opportunities for advancement.

    Cons

As is the case with federal contracting across the board, your experience is largely dependent upon the contract to which you are assigned. Work environment, hours, etc.. almost entirely depends on the project you're on, and the client you are dealing with.

    Advice to Management

I would suggest that more efforts be made to bring the organization as a whole closer together. Company events & gatherings would allow for employees to better connect within the firm.

    Pros

Great place to start out - able to work on business development while working on client delivery.

    Cons

Smaller firm so there's less room to grow. If there is growth, it seems to take a while - a bit uncharacteristic for a consulting firm.

I worked at Catapult Consultants full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Some of the staff are friendly and helpful, very responsive if you have questions or need assistance with something.

    Cons

    Benefits are not always available
High turnover in HR staff makes dealing with HR sometimes difficult
Not all the HR people are on the same page, one may say one thing, then another says something different. You can get a completely different view of the company depending on which one you need to deal with, as they all seem to have completely different personalities and agendas.

    Advice to Management

Friendly, helpful HR staff are the secret to employee satisfaction and retention

    Pros

Salary is decent if you work as a contractor for them and the atmosphere was pretty laid back, also the physical location of the office is nice..

    Cons

Management is underqualified to hold the positions they hold. The employee turn around is extremely high. There were also unethical business practices as to where employees were terminated for issues related to health and if you are a woman and looking to start a family while at this company, you might as well consider yourself terminated.

    Advice to Management

Deploy best practices and discontinue the use of unethical business processes.

I worked at Catapult Consultants full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Team Members work hard to deliver the best service to clients.

    Cons

Some Account Management personnel are in over their heads - poor manager, poor client management and promise the world. When the world can't be delivered, it makes the consulting team members look bad, which is not good for the company. Senior management does not have control over the Account Managers described above. Makes for a chaotic work environment.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your people, and you will deliver great client service.

I have been working at Catapult Consultants full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

At Catapult Consultants you may be required to do a little of everything in addition to your position. This will give anyone the chance to grow whether Senior or entry level. You are not micro managed, so when you are given a goal, you are also able to come up with your own "plan of execution".

    Cons

This is not the company to work for if you are looking for easy money. If you are not pulling your weight, it will be quickly noticed.

    Advice to Management

    Stay supportive of your employees.
